  1. Citech V5.2

I recently inherited a site that is running Citech V5.2. one of the computers has no comms at all the display data is just ???? . when I compile and go into run time its tells me it cannot find the server. I can ping all relative IP addresses from the computer itself. I though it was just a ethernet communication error at first but obviously not. I have also restored a older saved project but get the same issue. any help would be greatly appreciated.

  4. Hello All,   I am would like to know how to send a bit from an excel file to an omron PLC through CX-server in order to confirm that I have communication and the excel file is open.   At the moment I am reading data from the PLC on the Excel file no problem but I don't know how to do it on the other way.   I am attaching the code I have written and the excel file. So the idea is having a cell with a 1 and reading this value as a bit ON on the PLC.   Thank you very much in advance I really  appreciate it. :)
  5. Hello All,   I am having some issues with Excel while communicating with the Omron PLC. The Excel file is getting the data from the PLC and the macro doing what I want to do, but I am getting the following error messages when opening the excel file.   I am attaching the pictures of the messages and the code where debug send me.   Thank you very much in advance

  8. I have been tasked with pointing our FT View application to a remote SQL server for all data logging.  I'm having some issues getting this to happen.  I've configured everything I can find in our test environment, but FT View still points to the local SQL Server instance.  There must be a setting I'm missing.   For instance, when i go to Tools -> Diagnostics Setup -> Destination Setup -> ODBC Database, and I point to the system DSN I've created pointing to the remote server (and even enter the correct remote credentials), when i create a table, it goes to the local sql server instance... I've restarted multiple times.   Any direction would be appreciated.
  9. In general, this control PLC program is written in GX Works. I did a simple visualization on TIA Portal v14 (WinCC RT Advanced) and I would like to now test it on Mitsubishi FX3U driver with ENET Module. I do not have much experience in this kind of thing, I'm still learning. I know that someone previously made a visualization in LabView and downloaded the tags from the PLC using NI OPC Server. Someone also did visualization in iFix and also downloaded tags through server opc. I do not know just how or what program to download tags in PLC so that I can no longer use it in visualization in TIA Portal. Unfortunately I still have a connection problem. The driver is connected to the router. From the connection options with RT Advanced I chose in the connections tab Mitsubishi and entered the appropriate IP. Still nothing. I do not know if the lack of a connection can be related to a virtual machine (VM Vare Workstation 12) on which I have TIA Portal installed. The driver pings but can not connect. I also tried using KEPServer EX to connect and unfortunately also failed. (I have information about the can not connect). Anyone know what program I should use? or had contact with such a problem? I attach a photo of communication from my station to more visualize the problem. Thanks
  10. I have an application in the Visu+ Scada System, from Phoenix Contact, which makes a query in the SQL Server 2014 database. While the database was empty, queries were made perfectly, after 4 months the database grew up absurdly and then stopped running the query, returning the following error: Query timeout exceeded. I have a general table with 210 variables being written every 20 seconds. The query is made by updating the parameters in another single row table, it generates a trigger that copies the requested query to a third table and it is plotted on a chart in the supervisory system. The error occurs when Visu+ sends the parameters to be updated in the second table, returning "Query timeout exceeded.". However, when I update directly through SQL Server, it updates, generates the trigger and performs the requested query. Could someone help me solve this timeout problem, please? Thank you very much in advance!!
  11. Step7 on remote server

Hi, I was wondering if anyone have experience with Tia Portal Step7 v.14 and Step7 Classic v.5.5 located on a remote server? We have several persons working on our PLC's. As it is they all have their own PC with Step7 + licenses. We were thinking about moving the software environment onto a server to reduce license and maintenance costs. Does anyone else have this setup? If yes do you have any tips or comments? Pros/cons? I already know now that you cannot autodetect/configure new devices from a remote server as the Step7 detection protocol doesn't work through a router. We can live with that. We need both TIA Portal and the Step7 Classic on the same server. Thanks
  12. GE IFIX Server Client connectiom

I want to make a setup of one Ifix 5.5 server and  one Ifix  5.5 client for testing purpose.  This is for doing some alarms and events testing at the client( Operator Workstation) end. My question is that is it possible to do this setup without a valid license. Is it possible to establish the connection between server and client without license..? Regards Eby
  13. Hello We have a HP ProBook 650 G1 with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and when im trying to install Sysmax Studio 1.14 it all goes well untill I get to the CX-Server part. The installation always stops there and I dont get any usefull information from the event viewer. Myabe, just maybe, it might have to do with Bluetooth, a couple of times I get an event about the process "devmonsrv.exe" and how it failed to start. But this event doesnt always appear so it might just be an coincident. The installtions halts when he does something with the "OmronZipItWnd.exe" file. Have anyone of you have had problems with installating CX-server on a HP machine running Win7?   Regards Niklas
  14. So here's the problem I'm facing. I've recently started working for a company that has two facilities. They have lots of old equipment/PLCs, plus some new stuff. We undertook a project to upgrade the network infrastructure, and replace all the old programming terminals (Some had Windows 2000!) with a new standardized programming terminal, all sharing a common image. We've installed these new computers, and they were working great. Recently, we switched all the licensing to a Hyper-V based server, using FactoryTalk Activation Manager. Right off the hop, there was issues with one of the sites (let's call it site B). Site A is working fine. When you open FactoryTalk Activation manager, it populates the activations from the server in about 1s. The wait times for opening software are pretty normal (For RSLogix 5000, "normal" isn't exactly rapid, but like I said, that's normal). For Site B, the activations take forever to refresh in Activation Manager when opened on a programming terminal. The software takes even longer to open (we're talking about 2-3 minutes). Network wise, Site B is further along than Site A. We've implemented a Stratix layer 3 switch at the top of the network and use area specific VLANs to reduce multicast noise across the network (much of the multicast noise comes from vendor equipment, not PLCs, so I can't control it). This works fine. I can remote in and use TeamViewer/VNC with acceptable performance across the network, so it's not being bogged down to unacceptable levels. However, connection to the activation server is unacceptable. I'm not sure of the culprit (yet). We are continuing network improvements, removing some older 10/100 links and installing Gigabit equipment between the Hyper-V server and the above mentioned Stratix, hopefully that might help. However, that same 10/100 link is the one I use to remote in and use Teamviewer currently, so I can't see how much improvement it will give us for activations (which really should take almost no network traffic). To get activations, I'm just adding the IP address of the Activation Server into FTActivation Manager on the programming terminals. Any ideas, people? Thanks

  18. Hello all. Long time forum reader, first time forum poster. I'm in a controls role (first job out of college) and this has had me stumped for a while: We have our PLCs connected to our plant network through QJ71E71-100 cards. We use them for data collection/applications with OPC. For that purpose, it works fine.  We also use the "Station No. <-> IP Information" settings with conjunction with JP.READ and JP.WRITE to send information between some PLCs through the plant network, it also works fine. For the PLCs that we do not use the "Station No. <-> IP Information", remote connecting works well, no problem. The problem we have is we want to connect to the PLCs remotely for troubleshooting/monitoring. Any PLC that use JP.READ / JP.WRITE commands and has the "Station No. <-> IP Information" setup (Table Exchange System), we can not connect to remotely. It gives the standard error message as if we are connecting to something that doesn't exist. This has been happening for years (same issue with GX Developer). We have tried new Ethernet cards with newer firmware. We have verified that we are not trying to use an occupied station number, we are using the correct network. Mitsubishi Reps have been stumped and point to our IS department as being the issue.  We have talked to our IS department about this with our Mitsubishi Reps, our switches/hubs have the same configurations throughout the plant (by the way other lines don't have this trouble, even though they use similar commands) I've looked at buffer memory settings of other lines to see if there are any differences between ours, and theirs and there were none. I've attached screenshots of the error message that we get when trying to connect to one of these PLCs. Does anyone have any insight on this problem?  If anyone needs more information, feel free to respond to the topic. Also greetings all, I've learned a lot for this forum in general.
  19. Hi everyone. I created project in Visual Studio 2010 using MX Component (AxActQJ71E71TCP Control). It seems everything works normally. But when I turn off PLC or remove Ethernet cable from the QJ71E71 module my windows form gets frozen. My question is how to define lost connection in case of turning off plc or removing cable and inform user about it. Is there any event handler in VS or any way to find solution? Thanks.
  20. we doing project for tyre manufacturing industry, in my organisation previous working fine , from last one week FTTM Server was automatically going to Shut-down and error msg 1235 was showing, after restarting sever some times working fine and some times with in 5 to 10 min automatically go to shut-down can you please help me regarding this issue Thanks in advance...
  21. Hi, I am working on the following setup: External server connecting to PLC system via QJ71E71-100 Ethernet module and using MC protocolConnection via LAN cable (straight-though) between external server and QJ71E71-100 Ethernet moduleGoal is to pull data from PLC system via the use of MC protocol + 4E frame + ASCII data code + batch read Word units (via 0401 command, which is part of MC protocol)External server will act as TCP client, while QJ71E71-100 Ethernet module should act as TCP serverThe external server is using custom software (programmed in Python) to query/process response. At this moment I can 1) "ping" the QJ71E71-100 Ethernet module successfully, 2) connect to it via TCP socket and 3) send data via TCP socket. All is working well so far BUT I am not getting any data back from QJ71E71-100 Ethernet module. My setting are as follows: IP address of external server = 192.168.1.203 (it binds the socket to port 1500 of this external server when initiating communication). The external server will always initiate communication to query data whenever needed, FYI. IP address of QJ71E71-100 Ethernet module = 192.168.1.254, and it connects to port = 1500The Ethernet diagnostic tool indicates that my TCP packets are being received ("Total Number of Receives" increase every time data is sent), and that TCP response packets are being sent (increases in tandem with "Total Number of Receives" (apologies for poor picture quality): Would someone in the forum have experienced a similar issue (meaning that you could connect + send data from external server, but no data was getting sent back from QJ71E71-100 Ethernet module to external server? Are there some obvious mistakes in the configurations to the experienced eyes in this forum? For your information I am not using any gateway for the connection: it's a straight-through LAN cable from the external server directly into the QJ71E71-100 Ethernet module. Would such a setup work out of the box, or do I need to configure "Router Relay" or "Station No <-> IP information" within GX developer? Lastly I have not configured FTP, email or Interrupt settings, FYI. Thank you for your help, feel lost with this TCP connection issue. Regards to all forum readers! PS: find attached the pictures detailing configuration settings for both QJ71E71-100 Ethernet module and external server.
  22. I'm using AuthSmtp as my mail provider and I need to be able to specify the port number. I can't find a place in the rslogix 500 channel setup to put the port id. Currently I'm giving just giving it the host name 'authsmtp.com. I did try the ip address with the port number xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx but that didn't work either. Any thoughts are appreciated.
  23. Hi everyone. I'm new at Mitsubishi Q series. I can make a connection between PC and PLC through ethernet and read/write from/to registers. When I try to connect second PC to PLC I can't do it and get error. How can I set Network parameters of QJ71E71 module to communicate multiple PCs to PLC? Thanks.
  24. I'm trying to use CX-Server to pull data from my Omron CJ2H PLC directly into Excel. I'm able to pull a single element into excel, but when I try to pull more than one element, I get a huge strand of numbers. Is there a way that I can set up a single point in DDE Manager that'll hold all the elements that I need, then in excel have a formula that will pull out specific memory elements. Specifically I'm trying to pull data from D7200-D7399, and put each element into a separate cell it in a chart that ranges from B3-K22 This is what the formula looks like when I copy a point into excel =CDMDDE|'C:\Users\... ....cdm'!'\New Point 1' I didnt know if I could put something at the end of each string to call out specific elements, but I keep getting "#BadPoint" =CDMDDE|'C:\Users\... ....cdm'!'\New Point 1'!'D7200' =CDMDDE|'C:\Users\... ....cdm'!'\New Point 1'!'D7201' ... =CDMDDE|'C:\Users\... ....cdm'!'\New Point 1'!'D7399' Any help would be great
  25. CX-Supervisor can't runtime

hello guys, i got a little bit problem with my cx-supervisor 3.2. when i clicked the cx-supervisor development project, the message showed that cx-server detected a problem during initialitation. But it could enter the program with the new message again that access to the cx-server project has been denied and finally it surely could not runtime. After that i tried to fix it with uninstall and re-install but the result was the same. Please i need help to solve this problem. i have fixed it as much as i can it didnt work. Thank You Best regard
