  1. Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but my search hasn't revealed anything yet.  I have a number of PanelView graphics created with FactoryTalk View ME and some use a lot of Parameter Files, which link to popup faceplates. So a large number tags are represented with parameter files, which, when clicked on screen, then pop-up an appropriate faceplate, based on tag type or category etc.  I am still digging into the very elaborate FT View ME manual, but at 500 pages, that's quite a deep study.  But I don't see the linkage between the tag's parameter file and how it specifies which faceplate to pop up, and I've not yet found a good article other than keep digging into that FT manual. There does not appear to be a linkage entry in the parameter file itself, where I would have expected it.  Nor do I see any "hot spot" click type event code in the display itself, which would also make sense.  Is it in the PLC code itself?  I would not have expected that, since they seem to be keeping the FT environment self-contained. But there must be some sort of table or linkage somewhere that I'm over looking. Thanks in advance for anyone's thoughts & guidance on this.  Other parts of FT HMI screen development does seem intuitive, just not this dynamic linking.

  4. FR A740 parameter save

Hi Guys! A have a question about FR A740 inverter. Is there a solution to save the parameters from the inverter ? I know the method how can I copy the parameters from one inverters the to others. But what if I just have one inverter and I have to set the parameters. Is there a software for that task ? I f I remember correctly, there is an ethernet port behind the keypad, maybe I can use that ? ??? I want to save a backup too about the parameters and I dont want to see all of the 1000 parameters....  Thank you... Please help me.
  5. I believe I have found a bug in FactoryTalk View ME version 8.10. I have a trend object that uses parameter file placeholders on the connections tab. These are direct-addressed to the shortcut ie {[PLC]...}. The historical data from the datalog does not show. (The pens write lines, but when I navigate away from the screen and come back, the lines are gone and begin drawing again from the right side.) The current data does show. This tells me that the placeholders are correct syntax. When the screen loads, the placeholders are being replaced by a string which yields a correct tag path, or else the pens would not be writing correct data. When I replace the placeholders manually and directly address the tag, the historical data does show correctly. This tells me that the datalog is set up correctly and is logging data. I have verified that a previous project of mine, using I believe version 6.0, successfully used this method of using one screen and one trend to plot various tags using parameter placeholders, and the historical data did show correctly.
  6. Hi all, I would like to use the my FTView ME apllication pointing on differents PLC (as i have 10 exact same machines on the same network). I would like all the tag of my application called like this {[#1]xxxx} with #1 being able to be changed by pushing some button on the HMI and #1 will be the name of one of the 10 shortcut that i defined in my communication setup. Do you think that could work ? Using parameters could work ? Anybody tried that before ? Thanks
