  2. I have tried to get approval for a power factor but the RECC here doesn't charge us for demand. But I thought that some capacitors would help us also. I agree that they want to see instant savings from an investment or change that you do. We have installed timers on all of our equipment to shut the smoke collectors after a set amount of inactivity. I also have built a lighting control panel and installed many of those motion detector to replace light switches that are left on often such as bath rooms and confrence rooms.

  3. All of this is great information I have checked on doing some of the suggested items and have already done some of them such as the lighting control panel. The insulation is something that really stood out to me I don't think we have looked at that yet. Thank all of you for your replies, Please keep them coming and maybe all of us can use them. I will post some of the things that we have done around here later I don't have much time right now.

  4. I have been assigned to find some cost saving ideas, I currently work for a welding company that makes various types of seat tracks and frames. We have alot of resistance welding and mig welding so our electric bill is a bit on the high side. We also paint these parts through an automated paintline which uses alot of natural gas. I guess what I was wondering is there any things that you all have ran into that would stand out and make a difference quickly.

  5. I want to combine the value of two thumbwheel switches, I'm sure this is simple enough but for some reason it has stummped me. So if I have a 2 on thumbwheel #1 and I have a 8 on thumbwheel #2 I would like to move both of those numbers into a register and it display 28. Then move that into a timer. Thanks in advance!

  6. I have a Versa View that I have been working on for the past 3 months periodically. First let me tell you the whole story, First the hard drive went out of it and luckily it was covered by a recall of a faulty hard drive. So after replacing the drive I re installed windows and thought that I was on my way to resolving the problem. But here is my problem now after I put the program back in and got everything set back up the way it was, things don't display the way they used to. For instance I had the same program on a desktop computer running and everything worked fine all the displays worked but when I change the program over to the VersaView everything goes to hell. But the only fault I have is SERVER BAD QUALITY. But keep in mind I am using the same cable to connect it as the desktop. Do I have a bad ethernet port? I appreciate any help that you can give. Thanks in advance

  7. So the H in the code is where you have your card inserted into the rack. Thats makes a little more sense now. Did you get this code from the cards manual? It looks very similar to what I have been trying to work with out of the manual. Let me try that and I will get back with you and let you know how that turns out. Thanks for your help!!!!

  8. I did post it in the Mitsu forum but thought I would cover all the bases posting it here also. This is the first time that I have attempted to use analog input, I beleive that I need to use passive but my biggest problem is getting the card set up and talking to the PLC.

  9. I am trying to set up this card and having a bit of trouble. Keep in mind this is the first time that I have even used analog inputs so I am very green at this. If there is any one out there that has done this before any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I have downloaded all the literature that I could find on Mitsu web site and entered the example program and didn't have any luck with that either.

  10. Well what I finally done to get the machine back up. I called AB and reset my activation codes for RSview and RSlinx. Grabed a desktop that was not being used and used it. I am in the process now of making this a more permanent fix and installing a 17 touchscreen where the versaview was. This was a huge learning curve for me. But hey what doesn't kill us only makes us smarter. right? And it did have a Toshiba hardrive, and it does have a huge spot on the drive that is corrupt. Thanks for all of your help. I LOVE THIS SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Someone can probably answer this better than me, but the best I can remember is that you have to give it .07 percent of the voltage this opens the gate and you control the the gate voltage to control the current flowing through it. Its been a while so I could wrong, if so please straighten us both out someone!

  12. I have always had good luck from Automation Direct, but you have to jump through a bunch of hoops when you try to use replacment parts for big names. For instance their remote I/O cards that work like AB remote I/O I had to buy another type of software to get them to talk to the scanner card. Its been awhile since I done this project I can't remember what the software was, but to make a long story short. When your trying to take shortcuts they usually come back to bite me in the booty. But thats my opinion and you know what opinions are like. Everyone's got one.

  13. Will I need to change anything in the program, because it is wrote to the eprom and I don't have any way to change the program only monitor it. I was going to use another PLC and tie the I/O in parallel and write trouble codes based on the states o fthe inputs to my aux PLC, this is a very expensive way to do it but I could'nt think of any thing else. Thanks for your reply I will look into it. I know that some display can be triggered from an external output. Is that how this one works?
