  1. Factory Talk SE

I have 6.0 at home so if you post the .apa file I can see if I get the same error. Do you know what version it was originally created in? I have seen errors in the past when trying to bring an earlier into 6.0 but I can't remember the exact ones at this time. Also, see this thread and maybe it will help.... http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?showtopic=22565&st=0&p=108816&hl=factorytalk&fromsearch=1entry108816
  2. It has been a while for me also but try stopping Linx using task manager and then try going online using the utility. I can't remember if the utility use link or not and if not Linx could be hogging the com port.
  3. This is true and it's good you mentioned it. Also, View32 was tag based while ViewSE is screen based.
  4. FactoryTalk is different than RSView32 so no you will not be able to work on your RSView32 project with FactoryTalk. Do you know if these applications are stand alone [Only one computer] or networked [server with Clients Connected]? Hope this helps
  5. OT...I have never seen the MOV or ADD displayed like that....Where does that come from?
  6. XIC is a bit instruction while RTC:0.SEC is a word. If this is incorrect someone will be along to fix me. Hope this helps
  7. I think they were talking about ME when referring to the advanced tab.
  8. For clarification are you working in SE or ME?
  9. Could you place visibility on the banner for active alarms?
  10. I think you could use VBA to do what you want. Hope this Helps
  11. If I understand what you are looking for, the current trend has this option but you would have to add all the tags to the trend and then the user can change the visibility of the pens. Hope this Helps
  12. Forum, I have to add controls to a line that is currently set-up up with this: 1768-L43 [V16.9] 1768-ENBT [****Doesn’t show in the offline project] 1769-SDN/B 1769-SDN/B 1769-SDN/B 1769-IQ16/A 1769-OW16/A New hardware to be added will be Flex I/O over Ethernet and a PF 40 drive on Ethernet. I want to update the firmware in the controller to V19 so I can use the import function for the routines I write offline. The controller is also communicating with an SE V4.0 networked app. Does anyone see why updating the firmware shouldn’t work or potential problems? Also, every compactlogix I have worked with in the past had the Ethernet build in and so I don’t understand how/why it isn’t complaining that there is a 1768-ENBT card in the and why it isn’t showing in the offline .ACD. Thanks for your time, Bob O
  13. Ken, Thank you. I assume I won't need to do anything with the DeviceNet other then go only with it and save incase something horribly goes wrong. Thanks again and have a good weekend. Edit...Talking with RA chat right now and they say maybe it [RSLinx Enterprise] will work or maybe it won't..They don't know. Time to call into support. Edit Edit...GO Big Red..If they show up to play.
  14. Thanks Tim! I have past this along.
  15. We have a customer that sells their equipment with a ML1100 and one of their customers is asking for communications/MSG between an Omron CJ1M-CPU13 and CJ1W-ENT21 with the ML1100 Ethernet port. Any help on if this is even possible is appreciated. Thanks
  16. Thank you! That helped point us in the right direction. Note the PDF says the ML does implicit but checking with RA they state it is explicit but Omron also stated that with the EIP it is doable.
  17. Did you try to re point your shortcut to the processor under communication? You can test communications using the design tab under comms but also make sure you set-up your run time comms once you test the communications in design. Once this is done you will probably need to check the replace comms box when downloading to PV+. Also, I have in the past had to delete the shortcut and recreate it for the app to work. Hope this helps.
  18. Some days I get the box and some days not.
  19. Thanks Paul..I never knew you could do that.
  20. wire duct cutters

Our shop uses the third one down in Mickey's link for ducting and we also have a DIN rail cutter.
  21. I don't think RA software will work on Windows 7 Home...I may be wrong. Does Windows 7 Home have XP Mode? I have never used Windows 7 or XP Mode bit maybe this will give you something to go on until someone else comes along to help. Good Luck and welcome.
  22. I’m have been asked to place a Mitsubishi drive F740 on DeviceNet and control it with an existing ControlLogix. Does anyone have a program example of reading/writing to the drive that they would share? Thanks
  23. Update Ken was correct in that this wasn’t that difficult even for the green guy but I do have a question. I created a UDT and all works fine except being able to read a parameter from the drive. I think that the data format I set in the UDT isn’t correct and could use some help. https://my.mitsubishi-automation.com/downloads/view/doc_loc/1777/162641.pdf?id=1777&saveAs=0&form_submit=View+now I chose Input Instance 176 and Output Instance 126. So using Output Instance 126 on page 44 of the manual Byte 1 = SINT Byte 4 = SINT ….This is the one I think is incorrect but couldn’t test because they were running. Byte 5 = SINT I was attempting to read the output current from the drive but got nothing while it was running and the motor was pulling 93A. This is what I was sending..I think Page 74 of the manual. Byte1 = 1 Byte 4 = 80 which should have been 0x80 and this is the part I missed. Byte 5 = 12 I have attached the UDT if anyone wants to look at them. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks, Bob Mitsubishi_F700_O.zip
  24. RSLinx Enterprise

Are we talking about RSLinx Enterprise or RSLinx Classic? I wasn't aware that you could change the setting for RSLinx Enterprise like Michael has mentioned....
