  1. CXONE Updates

I forgot to mention that one of the seats is not connected to the internet, so we download each update (Download Only option) and transfer it manually to that machine. I kinda suspected the installer would let the user know but wanted to ask to be sure. Thanks for the info.
  2. CXONE Updates

Since purchasing CXONE (3 seats), we have had a total of 5 sets of updates. One of our seats has not installed the previous update and now we have a new update. Should all the updates be installed in cronological order? Or does the last update override all previous updates?
  3. I see different brands of screwdrivers mentioned but not electric screwdrivers. Some of the people I work with have rejected the use of them until they tried it. They are especially useful for wiring or unwiring entire panels. We use Milwaukee brand though other manufacturers make the same style.
  4. AutoCad Electrical 2008 new features

I'm not sure, but I would hope it would cancel Windoze relentless will to print something even though you've tried everything known to man and machine to cancel it yourself.
  5. The Velcro does wonders for keeping cables untangled. I play music in a rock n roll band on the weekends and these things have become absolutely necessary to use. Other items.... Extension cables for your PC to PLC connections. MS DOS boot disk. Windose 98 boot disk works pretty well also. Alligator clips. The list is long. Most of them are covered above. I keep most of the items in a couple of bags that reside on my roll around cart with my PC. I work in a factory, so some of the items will differ from the items you traveling guys use.
  6. Any suggestions?

Good point. We have 2 machines that are almost identical. The older machine is controlled by relays and the new one by PLC. It's funny to look at the electrical schematics of the old machine and the PLC program in the new one. The PLC mimics the old electrical drawings almost contact for contact. There is nothing wrong with the way the new machine performs. I just thought it was a case as Alaric described.
  7. Looking CX-Programmer 3.0 Installer

I'm not sure about all of Omron's releases of CX but the v3.2 that we have is an upgrade only disk.
  8. How can convert ladder from C500 to CJ1G

What is the problem you are experiencing? I don't believe you can open a C500 file with CX Programmer and also can not convert using File Conversion Utility. What it does appear to do is connect to a C500 PLC and retreive the program from the PLC. I'm not sure what can be done from there. We replaced our C500's a few years ago before CX supported them.
  9. SCADA vs DCS

I can't find the post I was looking for but here (at MrPLC) is a discussion as to why the lines should not be crossed.
  10. SCADA vs DCS

I have become very impressed with the Wikipedia site. SCADA at Wikipedia DCS at Wikipedia In a nutshell, DCS is the actual control system that runs plant, factory or other complete system. The SCADA will monitor the control system, do analysis, and allow access at specified levels. Their differences can be crossed but that is really up to the programmer. There discussions here about "Where to draw the line?". I will post the link if I find it.
  11. Ozz Food & Wines

I believe the bottles that TW and Clay are refering to 'don't have no labels'. You'll probably find it in Mason jars.
  12. Ozz Food & Wines

Maybe they go hand in hand?
  13. Change PLC Omron C500 to CJ1J

If you have CX Programmer ver. 7 then check out this link. Thanks to PdL for pointing that out.
  14. SCL2(486) Scaling for OMRON PLC's

Here ya go Bob. Does this help? I didn't know that either. Thanks Sleepy.
  15. Please read this post. Scroll down and read a post from PdL. He explains that is can be done but not without some complications. I would imagine you would need something to test your conversion on. To simply receive the old file via email, convert and send it back may be hopeful at best. Good luck.
  16. CX-One V2 updates available

And I just downloaded them one at time because that is how I had to do it previously. I'm curious, did you check them all then press INSTALL, or press DOWNLOAD ONLY? I always download them and save them because we have multiple licenses here at our plant and some computers are not networked to the internet. Thanks for the tip.
  17. VB Help Define a local path

Search the help section for "Environ Function". This function gives you access to the windoze environment variables. "User Directory" should be one of them. Edit: Sorry. "User Directory" is not an environment variable. "username" is. This is what I did: "C:\Documents and Settings\" + Environ("username") + "\My Documents\" That was the best I could come up with at the time. I am not a VB expert.
  18. CX Progremmer v5 mannual or tutorial

    W437-E1-01 CX-Programmer V5 operation manual It's right here at MrPLC's download section.
  19. CONVERSION INTO DECIMAL

I was joking of course. Although, I believe it is rudimentary in understanding the difference between the data types you are working with and the types you are seeing. I know that you understand them Bob. As for the original poster and anyone else interested, I would suggest reading Jay's Omron Tip #49.
  20. CONVERSION INTO DECIMAL

    That's cheating!
  21. NT20M-DF125-V2

I'm sorry, but I don't know. I've never used the function key model. The manual states in section 1-3-3. It's not clear as to which Support Tool they are refering to.Maybe someone with experience with this model can chime in.
  22. NT20M-DF125-V2

    Try this post.
  23. CQM1H and VB.net

I've never used Compolet. I would see if they have a Host Link driver.
  24. ELECTRICAL SYMBOLS

I don't see a timer contact on the document you posted. Timers are pretty common and the symbol somewhat resembles a timer contact. So that's my guess. I have never seen it drawn like that before.
  25. OT Plastics Forum?

We don't bond plastic to plastic, but we do bond many other materials to plastic. Loctite is our source for information and adhesives. They are very aquainted with the major bonding systems on the market as well as inspection methods. We use UV curing adhesive with added fluorescence for vision inspection. We use Fusion Systems for the curing. Edit: Sorry, we do bond plastic to plastic. We use use UV curing Loctite for that as well.
