Hi BB, You are correct. Low cost <> free. The original poster said "kepware type driver" which, AFAIK, is not free.

Hi, The videos are also on our site. Go to http://www.peakhmi.com/ and select the 'Download/PeakHMI demo' menu item to see the video list. >A little confused on what you would have to do in order to start internet explorer In the project settings you need to enable the HTTP web server. Then in IE, enter the IP address of the computer running PeakHMI in runtime mode. If you are on the same computer you can try 127.0.0.1. If that does not work then the IP address is needed. (Or install the loopback adapter in the network settings.) You can contact support via email: support at hmisys.com if you need assistance.

Hi, >...used to create a web page PeakHMI has a built in web server. Using the demo of PeakHMI you can do the testing of all the features. Omron, Excel and web server. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hello, PeakHMI supports Omron via FINS serial/TCP and SYSMAC-WAY/Hostlink via serial and Excel via ODBC. All very easy to setup and at a low cost. You can download the demo from here. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hi, >However, EVERY OPC Client out there... Sorry, that is not so. OPC has two interface methods, custom and automation. If you are using the automation interface, you need the wrapper DLL. If you are using the custom interface, you do not need the wrapper DLL. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hello, >For one, application development time with InTouch is certainly much lesser than ANY OTHER. Unless you have tried each and every one on the planet that might be considered hyperbole. ;) Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hello, Well Omron has the FINS protocol and it is published. That assumes the device you want to communicate with supports FINS commands. And you want to write the 'driver' or at least the code, to support the commands you need/want. Or you could use an HMI like PeakHMI - http://www.peakhmi.com/ - that supports the FINS protocol and has an included OPC DA server. Then via Visual Basic you could communicate with PeakHMI using OPC. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hello, PeakHMI supports many protocols, includes an OPC DA server and an OPC DA client in the base package. All drivers are included in the base package. Assuming we have the drivers to communicate with the PLC, PeakHMI can perform the task as configured. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hello, > does it flexible to work with various kind of communication protocols? I do not recall. I only used it with MODBUS. >ease to programmer to use? It was OK. I only used FB. >it's prices, compared with micro PLC's? Yeah it was comparable. We needed remote I/O and it fit the bill at a good price point. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hello, I used two a few years ago. One for an ink tank system and the other for a hydraulic system. Both worked OK. Be sure to purchase an end plate. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hello, The " GTNET" is an Ethernet card. The 1400 only does DNP via serial. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hello, PeakHMI can perform the task listed. Contact sales@hmisys.com for an educational discount. Regards, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hello, PeakHMI now has support for SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) Version 1, UDP, with traps and trap logging. Also smaller improvements like timed window closing, customizing embedded HTTP server, etc. We now also have about 20 videos demonstrating areas of configuration and runtime programs. Regards, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hello, I would concur. You do not change a map because you are facing a different direction. A "you are here" indicator would be better. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Using Raw Anlog Data to convert to usable display
Mark- replied to Fusionworks's topic in Modicon / Telemecanique / Schneider Electric
Hello, Scaling is: value = (raw in - IR Low) * ((EU high - EU low) / (IR high - IR low)) + EU low IR = Instrument Range EU = Engineering Units If you know the high and low of IR and EU then you can scale the input (raw in ) to the units you need. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com -
Hello, Per your statement that the coil is not used in any other place in the program and I assume there is not any other place in the program that is writing to that memory with for example a block move or a file copy, the only way I can think that ladder is not executing is the examine off contact is in the program that is monitored but the program was not download to the PLC. The program that is executing is not the program being monitored. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

different ip addresses cant see each other
Mark- replied to skjomcs's topic in Computer Help and Networking
Hello, Exactly why a router was designed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Router You can also look on the PC under 'Internet connection sharing.' From the help file: If you want to share one Internet connection among several computers, you have two options: Use Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). Use a router. Good luck, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com -
Hello, Very well done to all. I stopped in April 1997. I chewed Nicroette gum at about 1/7 the recommend amount for about 1 week. Cheers, Mark http://www.peakhmi.com/

Hello, I have a CP1L-M with two serial ports. It does not appear that I can add Ethernet FINS support to this model. I am searching for a low end PLC that supports FINS Ethernet. Ideas? Thanks, Mark

Hello, Thanks. I found a CJ1M-CPU11-ENET that will do the trick. Ciao, Mark
