  1. DeviceNet

So I'm as old as DeviceNet, cool Thanks for that
  2. Hi mhowasso, See attachment. I changed the time base on T4:0 to milliseconds just so I could see the timer getting reset Conor DCCFLOWS.RSS
  3. Hi guys, I was just trying to use the RTC function to monitor the watchdog on a Micrologix 1100. I have but in the following, but it won't verify. XIC RTC:0.SEC TON T4:0 1.0 5 0 What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Conor
  4. Thanks slcman, just tried that out and it is exactly what I was looking for
  5. RTFM Thanks Bob. Ok, if this is word can some explain how I would be able to monitor the whole word to see if its value is changing every second, please
  6. how move licence

Hi Indra, As the guys have said in earlier posts you will be better off moving them via the EvmoveW on a usb stick. I have used this when a PC motherboard crashed and the HD was still ok. Conor
  7. Hi guys, We had an issue today where we were getting comm's errors on one of our DeviceNet loops. It is one of two loops on the only ControlLogix that we have on-site. We have many other CompactLogix, SLC's, MicroLogix and PLC 5's. Anyway during the troubleshooting process the "Configuration button" was pushed a couple of times. This was pushed as it was thought that this was a "Reset" button. Anyway, we changed out a compact block that was faulty. We then noticed that another node was not coming back onto the network. We did a bit of investigation and found that the node of the scanner card had been changed, from 0 to 2. We couldn't understand how this had happened. We thought that there was a fault on the PLC. Anyway we got out the laptop and were about to start to download etc when we looked at the card again. Then we saw that the button was in fact a configuration button and not a reset button. We were then able to change the address back to 0. This button was pressed by a very experienced guy, but how do I stop this from happening again?? Is there a way to "Disable" this button?? Thanks, Conor
  8. Thanks for your help Fuzzy
  9. Thanks Fuzzy, I will check that out. When you say that, then it makes more sense to me
  10. Hi guys, I have just installed a new Powerflex 40 in place of a AB Soft start. The old configuration used an E3Plus O/L as well, and we were able to monitor the current from this. I have set-up the Powerfllex and am able to start the drive, send down a speed ref (hz) and read back the speed feedback (hz). When I mapped the drive onto the DeviceNet it came in with 4 bytes inputs and 4 outputs. 2 bytes Logic Status and 2 bytes Feedback for the inputs and 2 bytes Logic Command and 2 bytes Reference for the outputs. Anyway is there anyway that I can increase this to monitor the current from the drive as well. I can see the live data fine when on RSNetWorx Thanks, Conor Sorry, the drive is a 22B-D4P0N104 with a 22-COMM-D devicenet card
  11. Net_Eni Hanging up

We looked in to getting an L32E, but there are some contractual hang-ups, and basically we weren't allowed to get one I never thought of using it as a paperweight, although the Net-Eni would definately make a good one!!!!!
  12. Hi guys, I have a Net_Eni that is connected to an L31 processor. I am using the Net-Eni to get some values back out of the processor for my Scada. Sometimes the comms to this hang-up. I know that there are issues with these with the max number of read/write conections. What I am wondering is that is there a way to program in via the EniWUtility a set of ip addresses that can only "talk" to this?? Thanks, Conor
  13. Ethernet Problems

    Or Westermo?
  14. Thanks Ron. I will try this out and let you know
  15. Hi Ron, I have checked all of the other PC's and none of them have a TON instruction for T4:0. I have looked through the documentation from the vendor and can find anything about this either. I will do a bit more digging. Of course all of the machines have run fine since the problem last week. I have written code to monitor the Heartbeat from each of these PLC's as well. To get it back to my alarm panelview I have to go through the DeviceNet to One PLC5 then a message across ControlNet to another PLC5 then an EtherNet message to a SLC which the panelview is looking at. Conor
  16. Thanks for all your help guys. It will be Monday now at this stage before I can look at the code. Also the machine and the code is from a vendor, of course I would write code like this I have written some code yesterday so that my main site alarm panelview will bring up an alarm when a processor is faulted. I have one alarm for each. Conor
  17. PID

Hi Weaksauce, Can you expand/explain on both of those fixes (low pass and average filter). I would be interested in using in some of my programs Conor
  18. Hi guys, The major thing about this problem was that when the processor faulted the other machine did not start it thought that the faulted machine was running fine. When the Op's looked at the Scada it showed running, of course no one went down and physically checked wheather or not it was actually running. I can't force zero's into the values when the processor is faulted? The program won't be cycling (am I correct here). These PLC's are monitored by a PLC 5. I am going to have to look at the heart beats from each of these PLC's and set off an alarm when one of the heart beats is not detected. Conor
  19. Hi Paul, The machine was running away fine when this happened. I will check out the code now I checked the code. B3:6/1 is coming on/off every minute or so, when 100 samples are taken. I can't find anywhere if R6:0.Pos is being written to externally. I will check more. Some of the code in these PLC's is done with indirect addressing. Conor
  20. Hi guys, I have read about the new Micro 800 series. I was looking at the website and I can seem to see an Ethernet port option on them. Does anyone know if they come with Ethernet?? Conor
  21. I'm finished for the day and I don't have 500 software on my laptop at home (yet!?!?). I'll check it out tomorrow morning and get back to you
  22. See attached. It is a vendors program CEN3750E.RSS
  23. Micro 800 series

I thought the same. I have a small project that I need a small PLC and thought this is the time. I wanted the Ethernet to get access over Ethernet and fibre back to my Scada.
  24. Hi guys, To expand a little. This processor was on one air Blower. We have 9 Blowers in total, 4 pairs and one stand-by in case one of the pairs goes down. I checked the Watchdog timeout setting on all and it was 160. I checked the Scan times on all of the processors and they are all about 31/2 ms. Also Michael, I checked the help files and S:3 is in multiples of 10 ms. The default is 10 (100 ms) and this can go up to 250 (2.5 secs). Conor
  25. Hi fuzzy, Yes the program was running fine, for a long time. The rack configuration is as follows: 1747-L541C 16K 1746-IB16 1746-IB16 1747-SDN 1746-OW16 1746-OW16 1746-NI8 1746-NI4 1746-NIO4I Conor
