  1. 1746-NO8I / NI8

Both cards are configured Class 3 and Scaled to PID A transducer feeds a 4 mA to 20 mA signal to the Input card. This goes to a SCP scaled 0 to 300 psi. This goes to a Process Variable on a PID which goes to another SCP. The second SCP scales 0 to 5000 and goed to the Output card. The Output goes to the modulating valve that needs to open slowly. I can't post the program. Can the Output be scaled to slow down the valve opening?
  2. Greetings, I am working with a SLC 5/03 OS302 and a 1746-NO8I and a 1746-NI8. I would like to be able to apply a 4 mA to 20 mA signal to a modulating valve at slow rate. Is there a way that I can do this with the Output card. I have looked at the cards manuals and just have gotten more confused. Thanks for any and all help' bowler
  3. We had some machine updates completed by outside contractors. After they were done they left without giving us a copy of the new program. The Update consisted of a new SLC setup ( 5/04 ) where none was before. Will we be able to hook-up to the processor and do a upload ? If so, how do we prepare for it . Thanks in Advance bowler
  4. Good Day To You ! Just a follow up for Ron and Mickey. I have the Application in the Panel View but I think the SLC 5/03 is going flaky. The green light on the DH485 port goes out and the PIC driver will not see the SLC or the panelview. I did get the PIC to hook up to the SLC after I changed from the DF1 driver Thanks for your Help !! bowler
  5. Thanks Mickey, Here is my set up. The panelview has 120 volt power supply from Fuse 1. PanelView is PV550 Cat. No. 2711-K5A2 Ser. H FRN 4.41 Controller is SLC 5/03 Cat. No. 1747-L532 Ser. PC is connected to 1747-PIC connected to cable 1747-C10, which hooks into the DH-485 programming connector on the panelview. The DH-485 communication port on the panelview is connected by cable 1747-C10 to the SLC 5/03. Just like the photo on page 195 of the panelview manual. Page 194 of the panelview manual also has this statement - Important The terminal must be connected to an SLC, DH-485 network, or power supply ( CAT. No. 1747-NP1 ). This connection provides power to the PIC. I believe that the cabling setup is correct. When on the Communication Setup screen of the panelview this is what it says, DH-485 Max Node 31 Node 2 Baud 19,200 Comm. 6. Thanks Ron, The panelview is hooked up to the processor so it is getting its needed power supply. I am using the 1747 pic driver and the gray box with a C 10 cable. The SLC is hooked up to the panelview with a C 10 cable, the panelview is hooked up th the PC thru a C 10 cable and the gray 1747 pic box. When in Panelbuilder 32 during a download the panelview does not show up. I think I have the PB32 program configured properly. The address for the panelview is node 02 baud 19200. The address for the processor is node 01 baud 19200. The address for the PC driver is node 00 baud 19200. On the panelview the comm light will sometime be steady and other times it will be flashing. bowler
  7. Good Afternoon from Indiana ! I am working with a 2711-K5A2 panelview and a SLC 5/03 - OS302. I have been unable to get these two items to work together. I am using the DH485 protocol and a 1747-pic/aic-driver with the C10 cable assembly. I can connect to the processor with the RS 232 Driver without any problem. For the connection to the panelview I am going from the PC to the panelview direct. The address for the panelview is node 02 baud 19200. The address for the processor is node 01 baud 19200. The address for the PC driver is node 00 baud 19200. There is one cable running from the panelview ( a C10 cable ) to the processor. The software is Panelbuilder 32. When you go to the download screen the panelview does not show up. Any idea on what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance, bowler
  8. In RSLOGIX 500 is there any reason why that you can't turn on several outputs in one rung by using branches. Thanks, bowler
  9. Thanks again to all that replied. Alaric's answer was what I was looking for.
  10. I just joined the Fourm. After browsing thru the posts there looks to be many wonderful and intelligent people here. Okay here is the problem, I am just starting out learning AB programming and I am working with a "SQO" File #B9:0 Mask 94BF Dest. O:2.0 Control R6:2 Length 13< Position 0< It seems to work properly except that when you stop it in the middle of the file. The rung goes false and the position resets back to zero, but the outputs stay energized. What am I doing wrong? This is in our "Plug and Play" board set-up, we have a 5/03 processor with 1 input and 1 output card.
