Posted 25 Sep 2012 There's (*virtually) no such thing as too much resolution. Resolvers are superior in reliablility when exposed to high vibration and mechanical shock. They are also absolute and the decoder determines the resolution...8192 angle divisions per revolution are readily available. *Modern High Speed Counter Cards are very very quick but RTFM to find the frequency limit.
