Proficy 5.0 to 5.5

When going from CME (Proficy) 5.0 to.5.5 should the PLCs be stoped and reloaded or can this be done on the run. This is using the RX7i platforms. Cheers Tank

As soon as you touch the program with 5.5 it will be converted.

Yes, just do not DL the Hardware Configuration. And. It is always best to do this at a time when stopping the CPU will not cause any problems. (Just in Case.)

I have found that when you upgrade the Proficy version, it is best to: 1.) Stop PLC 2.) Clear all PLC Memory 3.) Flash memory PROM (with cleared memory) 4.) Download program (after software upgrade conversion) 5.) Re-Flash memory PROM (with new program) 6.) Run PLC This way, even if there are no changes to the logic, you are ensured a fresh, clean downloada using the new software version
