What means EtherNet messaging only in the ML1100?

Does it mean it cannot be programmed via E-Net port?

I think it means you cannot control I/O via ethernet I/P. you should be able to do anything else including programming.

I'm still experimenting with mine but I am able to force outputs via the ethernet port, upload/download and monitor the program.

By 'Control I/O', it means that you could not hook up, for example, a 1794-AENT EtherNet/IP FLEX I/O adapter and use it as remote I/O for the MicroLogix 1100 program. The Ethernet port on the controller allows all the normal SLC-500 style operations; upload and download, online monitoring, and unscheduled data exchange with PC's, other controllers, and operator interfaces.
