Prosoft AN-X4-AB-DHRIO

Hi,

 

Has anyone used a ProSoft AN-X4-AB-DHRIO to convert ethernet from iFix V3.5 SCADA to DH+ on SLC5/04 PLC's at all? We are looking to use this but have had some comments that the ProSoft unit can struggle with the quantity of data between SCADA and the SLC on DH+

The alternative is to use CLX and a DHRIO unit. Reluctant to go this route as the cost is extortionate and the DHRIO unit is now end of life. We can't change the SLC's out at the moment so need a cost effective alternative.

Huh.  I'm not so sure this isn't just someone's disappointment with the DH+ data rates, which, even at its fastest, is multiple orders of magnitude slower than ethernet.  The CLX/DHRIO combination won't go any faster, I would think.  (My experiences with Prosoft devices are entirely positive, fwiw.)

I've had positive results with CLGX/DHRIO ; Prosoft and RedLion converters.  Of course comparing DH+ to Eth/IP is like comparing a tortise to a hare.
