panelview 300 and 1000+

hi 

we have a mixture of AB panelviews and need software to talk to them for programming downloading etc

we have the old panelview 300 and i think a 600 mono screens rs 232 coms 

also we have panelview 1000+ colour screens network connected  

what programs would we need

I think all the PanelViews use FactoryTalk View Studio Machine Edition, known more commonly as FactoryTalk ME.

The PanelViews with black surrounds use PanelBuilder 32, the newer PanelViews with grey or silver use FactoryTalk Studio for ME.

alan_505 is right. Also, something to keep in mind about the old black bezel PV 300 Micros. Their RTC battery is potted onto the main board and not replaceable. When it dies, as I recall, the HMI won't finish its boot process. We took to keeping our spares powered on to prevent that.

A good thing about the PV300 micro is that you can change the comms from DF1 to DH-485 using firmware.

Even though they come with 2 different part numbers.
