Posted 17 Aug 2016 Good day I have a CJ2M cpu with ID211 module I have 2 E6B2-CWZ6C encoders connected to inputs 6,7,8,9 the plc data trace shows that pulses are being read, but I`m trying to configure PRV 881 instruction but it doesn`t work please find attached the images Best Regards Eduardo encoder error.pdf
Posted 17 Aug 2016 Have you transferred the PLC settings to the CJ2M PLC AND MOST IMPORTANTLY power cycled the PLC? New or changed PLC settings do NOT become effective until you have cycled power!!
Posted 17 Aug 2016 Bits, yes I transfered the PLC settings and poer cycled, but it seems not to be working
Posted 17 Aug 2016 its cx programmer 9.4.2 should Install an older version?
Posted 17 Aug 2016 The PRV instruction only works for high speed inputs. Standard input modules should not be used for encoder inputs. They are not nearly fast enough and are not configurable to take an AB signal from an encoder. You would need a CJ2M-MD21_ module, or a CJ1W high speed counter module (CJ1W-CT021). The CJ2M-MD21_ card would use the PRV instruction but the CJ1W-CT021 would not use the PRV instruction. It has other ways of getting the info into the CPU. I would recommend the CJ2M-MD211 (NPN outputs) or CJ2M-MD212 (PNP outputs). There are two, two channel inputs per module and you can have 2 modules. So, you could have 4 encoders on one CJ2M. Each module also has 2 high speed pulse train output pairs.
