No you cannot use the Step 7 software for S5 PLC's Step 7 is for S7 300/400 PLC's (using MPI/Profibus/Profinet) Step 5 is for S5 PLC's (Usining TTY/20mA interface) You will require Step 5 from Siemens or one of the other alternative Step 5 packages.
