CPM1A INCREMENTAL ENCODER

Hi I connected Koyo incremental encoder to cpm1a i'm using PRV to read PV,for some reason it skips some counts,example-counts from 0to ~2500 and then "jumps" to ~4000,again counting from 4000 to ~6500 and "jumps" to ~9000. I would appreciate if somebody could explain me why it skips counts. Thanks. Edited 5 Jun 2011 by slav321

Assuming that you already have 0 in "P" and "C" of your PRV instruction, could you post your code?

Sounds like you have it in circular mode and the highest count is 2500.

Hi Well,it's just two rungs code,1st rung has PRV,2nd-INI to zero it,...basicly i just wanted to test it before i replace some unknown encoder on one of our machines. Thanks.

Do u have to use the PRV in the CPM1A? I thought the PV turned up in a CIO area I don't have the manuals in front of me to confirm, but you could also use that method. Posting your configuration is also a good place to start
