Config of flex IO analog modules in RSLogix5

3 posts in this topic

Hi guys, I've just configured my first Flex IO analog input modules in an existing Flex RIO rack on a PLC5 system. I added the modules in the IO configuration then gave them control and data addresses. Note that these modules are not powered up yet. The module configuration screens are a little diferent than the 1771 stuff I'm used to... 1 - the 1794-OE4 has columns for Safe Data, Safe Signal and Output Select. I can't find descriptions anywhere. What do these mean? 2 - Neither the OE4 nor the IE8 config screens have low/high scale values. In the OE4 a data value of 0 = 4 mA signal, but I have to use 30832 to get a signal of 20 mA. Huh? Where do they come up with that kind of number? Why not 32767? What am I missing here? Am I forced to use raw data values in my logic?

The equivalent Raw data for a flex I/O system are the Following: 4mA - 0 20mA - 30840 Put it in Output if you want to use the the address and safe state if you want to Disable. Gnex
