Hi All! I just had to format my computer (f*cking Virus) and now I'm woundering if there is anyway to retrive my mails and notes? I have a copy of my disc before formating it... Does save the mails in some sort of file or database? Best Regards! //e.

Usually they are stored in .pst files, do a search for anything ending in .pst

You might also look for .OST files. PST are personnal files .OST are offline files.

why such drastic measure (formating)? this is usually last step (you could use free AV software and AdAware for example, also check ZoneAlarm instead of MS built in firewall).

Becuse I cound not even Boot up the harddrive (not even in failsafe mode), i took out the harddrive from my laptop (the hardrive i formated) and placed it in another computer and the scanned it with F-Secure (latest updates) but after some time scaning it the F-Secure said that it had run in to some problem and have to be shout down...!? So it was either formating the drive or throw the harddrive out of the window! hehe /e
