  1. I am trying to determine or find any figures that could assist in obtaining the lifespan of a single output of a 1756-OB16E output card. I have a signal sending 400 pulses a minute to an output. I am starting think about when this card or output may need to be replaced before failure. I was given a MTBF range by Rockwell for the card itself but they could not expand on the likelyhood of the output failing exponentially due to the rapid signalling. I could also not find anything in the manual itself that could provide me with an idea of longevity, I could be missing it? Also with this project I experienced something odd with the originally scoped hardware, a solid state 24VDC relay (700-HLS1.) By measuring the resistance I was able to see that the relay should have been opening and closing but the signal was not being received. So, I swapped the solid state relay for a mechanical relay and it worked fine. I was curious if the leakage could have an effect on this. The problem with the mechanical relay is that the life is dramatically reduced to about a month for this installation, life for the relay is shown at about 10,000,000 actuations. I was hoping to have this working with a little longer life expectancy. If anyone has any experience / tips / or suggestions it would be much appreciated! PG

I'm new to Omron, and after several days of diving into manuals trying to figure this out on my own and giving myself a headache I've come to accept that i need help. my task is the following: Control of the discrete and analog inputs/outputs in a DeviceNet system using an Omron CJ1M PLC’s and PT’s. Use at least one thermocouple, one analog input, and one analog output for the DeviceNet network. Use a pushbutton and a light for the start of the process and an indicator for the started process. I have a Drt1-Ad04 input, a Drt1-ad02 output, and a Drt1-ts04t temperature control. My devicenet is Cj1w-drm21, The Omron system itself is a cj1m-cpu13 etn21. I have node addresses for my input, outputs and temperature control, those being 35 for input, 25 or 30 for output and for temperature control 5, 15, or 20. The ip address im using for this project is'm using Cx programmer, Designer and Integrator. On Cx programmer I've managed to create an IO table but i have no idea on how to begin the program or even get a current reading from my generator.On Designer I've made what i believe to be the layout of the pushbuttons, I just have no idea of what addresses to enter.And on integrator i'm having troubles on figuring out how to make a routing table. I've went through many manuals and either i'm missing something really basic here or I just have no idea on what I'm doing. The only advice I was given was to dive into more manuals and find my addresses for my inputs, outputs, and temperature or to find the information from an outside source be that a forum or customer service. I am able to provide more information, and screenshots of what I have done if needed. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!
  3. CQM1-CPU43 Output OFF Bit SR 252.15

    I am from AB world, but now am facing up with Omron PLC troubleshooting. One of my machines with Omron CQM1-CPU43 went out of work, because of low batteries in the PLC, program was lost and PLC stock with Error” Low battery” Is my luck, program was stored on EEPROM card, so I replaced the battery and reload program back to PLC, but after that other light on PLC comes up ”Output Inhibit Bit” is ON and all outputs are OFF. Operational manual sated just “turn back to OFF position, the “Output OFF Bit SR 252.15” and nothing else, where and how I can do it. I can not find in the CX programmer software the way to switch this bit, neither one rung in the program consist this bit, I really don’t know how solve this problem. Could you, please advice?
  4. Hi all, I am using compact logix 5370 L3 controller(1769-L30ER) in hydro power plant application. So I have to now fetch electrical parameters from different brand component i.e. Siemens make General Management Relay which has profinet communication support. So the question now, is it possible to communicate directly with the controller and Siemens relay to display various electrical parameters? If not please suggest me what I can do to communicate with the relay in order to display the parameters in HMI. Awaiting for the replies. Thank you.
  5. Hi Good Day, I need a suggestion, I have an omron encoder, encoder counter meter (K3NC-NB1A) and communication card RS-232C 25pins (K31-FLK1). My question is, what is the best omron software to read and manipulate the data from the encoder (I have CX-one software but I only use CX-programmer). I want to capture the encoder pulse and convert to velocity, acceleration, deceleration and also energy absorbtion. I have to use mathematical formula such as two times differentiation. I also need to show grapf and display final result that is energy absorbtion reading. Or is it much simple if I use VB / labview / java software? Thank you in advance
  6. I am working on Remote IO panel and plan to use the following components: 1734-AENT 1734-OW4 - qty 2 1734-IE4C I wonder if I need to separate the bus between the relay output module and analog input module? Or anywhere else in this setup? Thanks.
  7. I have had a GE 90-30 CPU331 in my house for 17 years with no trouble at all. I have a problem that I have never seen before. I was editing the program using LM90. I don't know what I could have done in the program to disable an output. Just 1. All the rest of the points in that group on that card still work. I swapped cards with no difference. All of the elements of the rung are true (highlighted). The output is not on or highlighted. The nickname over the output has ONE letter highlighted. The bit in the reference is "0" and is highlighted or "grayed out" (the cursor is not on it). I searched for coil conflicts. I am using this output contact lots of places but only one output. The logic is working correctly when I use another output or %M. This is an isolated output which needs to be in this group (moving it would be awkward). What does a "grayed out" reference bit mean?

    Hi all, Im new with plc programming and now I need some help. As topic says, I have FX3U plc and gx works2. Now, I need to tell stack heigth as positions by output. We all agree, that you can tell ten different situations when you have four outputs (Y1 and Y4 = position five). Is there any practical/ reasonable way to do this when you need use outputs. For example, is there any Functions for this, or? Best regards Ultra.
