  1. S5 & S7 communication

Hi, I'd like to come back to my data collection question. I decided to use ethernet: install DIGI One IA for S5-115, install cp443 for s7-400, and I was thinking to use WinCC, but now I need to have an access to the Koyo (PLC Direct) DL205, DL305 PLCs as well. Is it possible to use WinCC and ethernet to collect data from all those PLCs or I need some other software? If somebody has an experience or knowledge, please give me some ideas. Thanks.
  2. S5 & S7 communication

Thanks for the reply and information. Right now there are no those cards installed on PLCs. If I install the cards, will the I/O addressing be changed (I am not experienced with Siemens PLCs)? And I am still interesting in somebody's opinion about using DIGI as I guess it would be cheaper way. Thanks.
  3. S5 & S7 communication

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to connect several S5-115 and S7-400 PLCs in order to collect and monitor data using probably WinCC. Profius is already used, and I am thinking to use serial ports of the PLCs with serial to ethernet converter DIGI One RealPort, so I will have ethernet network. I'm looking for any comments on this idea or other suggestions. Thanks.

Sorry, Guest it was me. Forgot to log in.
  5. DeviceNet

Thanks for the respond. So SDN scan time depends on number of i/o bytes I have in the network + PLC reading rate, and +, I guess, interscan delay. I couldn't find in manual how to monitor scan time to have an idea how long my input should stay ON. Thanks.
  6. Hi, I have Micrologix1500 with scanner 1769-sdn and flex i/o with adapter 1794-adn. DeviceNet was set up at 125kbits/sec. Flex i/o not far from the PLC (about 3-5m). I am trying to figure out what is the minimum time input at flex i/o can change its state so that it can be detected by PLC. Lets say input changes from off to on and again to off. So what is the minimum time input should be ON so the PLC can read it through the network? I guess it might be 1/125k=0.000008sec? Or it's to simple. If somebody has an idea, please help me. Thanks.
  7. OP270, OP27

Thank you for the info. I'll check the card and upload enable option.
  8. OP270, OP27

Hi, I'm new with Siemens. I have OP270 and OP27 that are running. I have to do some edits on that screens and I do not have source files. As far as I know ProSave can give me only the backup file that cannot be modified. Do I have any options to upload the program from the screen and do make changes? Or the only option is to rewrite the program. Thanks.
  9. C200H-NC213

Hi, I just had a chance to check the replies. Thanks very much for clear and usefull explanations. I will play with numbers.
  10. C200H-NC213

Hi, thanks everybody for reply. Yes, C200-NC uses BCD, and it is good you pointed that I have to use doubl word math. I'll try to do conversion in ladder later. At this point I can't figure out using just a calculator. It seems to me the output (motor speed in rpm) is not linear after 9 rpm. Otherwise do not understand why 341pps(hex) gives me 1rpm, 2728pps(hex) gives 8rpm, and 5000pps(hex) gives 30rpm, 6500pps(hex) gives about 80rpm. I got these numbers by experiment. Did some body have this kind of problem or it because I do something wrong?
  11. C200H-NC213

That is exactly what I did. My motor needs 20480 pulses for one revolution. When I set speed to 341pps (20480/60), it makes 1 rpm. When I doubled speed (682pps), it makes 2rpm, but it works till 9rpm (341*9=3069pps). Then this formula does not work. If I write to DM508 5000pps, it makes 30rpm. When I write 6500pps, it makes about 75-80rpm (I counted when watching the motor). It some how relates to hex system, but I can not get how. Thanks for reply.
  12. C200H-NC213

I have to monitor rpm of my servo on HMI. Do not know how to convert pps from DM508 to rpm using CX-programmer (for ex.: I have 5000 (in hex) in DM508, what speed in rpm does it correspond?) Is any special coversion instruction or formula? I'm using C200HG, NC213, servodrive R88D-UP12LA, and AC servomotor R88M-20030LA. Thanks.
  13. Position control with NC213

I've found out what I did wrong. I made it move today.
  14. Position control with NC213

Just registered. I'm really hope somebody can help.
