This is a good post and a must try. Ill definitely try this when i got home as im out of the country now. I think Profibus is connected to pins 3 and 8 only so it really makes sense that it is not supplying the pc adapter when you connect it ( just a wild guess ). I hope someone will shed a light on this. :)

Thanks sir for your reply.. I think i figured it out! you're right its already canned. My problem before is i cant find it on the standard folders of different functions and symbols menu.. So i think you can do it by right click- insert new object-function on the blocks sub menu of s7 program which is wrong. Thats the confusion for me.. So after research you can find it in the standard library folder and call it multiple times... hehehe my bad.

Sirs and experts, Im a newbie on plc but i really want to learn it, that i end up doing this as a hobby. I have an analog in/out module and i want to learn the scaling function fc105. My question is should i apply the formula that is written on the documentation file that is on pdf format that says OUT= ( ((float (in) - K1)/(K2-K1)) x (HI_LIM - LO_LIM) ) + LO_LIM in the fc105 window? Or should i just put the parameter (IN,HI_LIM,LO_LIM,BIPOLAR,etc) in the interface menu on the top of the window? Is the formula already inside the block? Any comment and idea will be very helpful and appreciated!

Im not 100% understand what you mean but you might wanna try the shift register function :)

Experts and sirs; I want to connect my plc to the touch panel is there a special cable for this or can i construct this on my own? Do you have a list of wiring pinouts using DB9 connector? Thanks in advance it will be a big help.

Hi sirs: I'm new to automation so please bear with me. I found these two used simatic TP 27 color panels in the stock room, 6" and 10". I powered both up to see if its still working. Both lights up with the display and corresponding error it's like, error 551, i think saying that plc is not connected. On 6" i tap the error bubble and was able to tap and see some functions before the error comes again but on the 10" i cant play with it even if i tap the error bubble. Which one is defective of the 2 or is it normal? Sorry for my long story.. Thanks in advance for the help.
