HI bjcanning, I not sure this can help you but it sure look like, what I gone thrue not to long: I was building 4 PLC+HMI system and for no real reason 2 PLC and one HMI would communicated perfertly with a standard RS232 to USB converter but not the other ones. I was using CX-Programmer loaded on a XP laptop. I fix my problem by getting the OMRON, RS232 to USB converter model#: CS1W-CIF31, THAT BABY SOLVE ALL OF MY TROUBLE. Good luck, hope this help you.

I Looking for a FIFO instruction, I want to save the register value of DM100 every time it change so I can recall it later and see all instance it was change. What best instruction should I use and does anyone have a example this would be great. Thanks

Hi MPM I cant open you application in your zip file NTSX says "it can not plc file". The good news is I found in the copy tag to STR in the add new task. but you mention you put yours in the start up and not the global, if you do that will it not only run once and thats it? I put mine in global. thanks

Thank you PDL I was not able to make this cable work. I use a laptop with no real comm port so the only setup that work was to go with the CIF31 with the CBL202 cable. this work great, but it as a price tag of over 250$.

Acording to installation instruction we can read this " The NT2S B scans a user definable register called as Screen Triggering Register (STR) in the PLC. To display number XXX, simply put the number in this STR." I am uning a CPM1A and I dont see any STR, how do I do that? thanks

HI guys I am setting up 4 NT2S-SF122B-EV2 and I can not download firmware to three of them Why is? I use the same cable and comm Setting I still cant get the last three to take the firmware in. the HMI screen go to receiving FW from IBM cable but then go back to no driver loaded program the unit. and the NTXS software says Unknown respond from unit for setup frame. does anyone know the pin out of the cable and the comm setting needed to make this work????

No It is all right. I am sorry I did keep up with you guys, but I got tie up trying to setup comm with these NT2S unit. I use the the IR coil solution creating 16 alarm register that is more then I need, was lookin for 5 alarms. thank you all for helping me. You guys or so good that I am going to ask you a new question, please look for my question about "downloading Firmware to NT2S"

I do see some LED activity on the comms Led of the PLC, it flashed slowly not the brigh and almost always ON like it is with a normal PLC. As far as the dip switch on the CIF, I am on host, like I said I use the same cable and hardware ( just change the plc) and was able to connect. If the port setting did change for any reason,should the auto connection (ON cx-programmer) find the new setting? I am not giving up hope yet, but I start to beleive I may not be able to do anything. The only solution I forth see is if there is a hard reset like factory reset type of example. I dont know maybe by connecting two pin or some sort of press here to factory reset would be very helpful right now. Thank you all for trying to help me with this problem and please keep asking question, I will answer then. Hopefully this will be the solution.

This was my mistake I knew I needed to use a different source for the PLC. Trying to save time by making quick connection just to see the program run, is not always a good thing. As far as of trying to cycle power to the unit, "YES" I did. Also my Laptop is fine along with my NT2S I was able to continue my work with my spare PLC. The programming tool solution is what I tough you me say, the problem is that I no longer have access to one. Is there another OMRON device that will let me connect a CPM1A with my laptop without using the CIFO RS232 interface?

I ran into a weird situation on my new setup, I have a CPM1A and a NT2S HMI connected together with OMRON 225 cable. I then proceed to connected my computer to the HMI via the serial port so I can change the NT2S at which point the NT2S black out and PLC alarm out. I beleive the reason of this problem was because I was using a positif grounded source for the PLC and my laptop has a negatif grouded source. Final result is that I am left with a CPM1A that is in a alarm condition I can not clear out, because I can not communicated with the PLC anymore the CX-Programmer cant find it. OK my question is can you clear this alarm without having to communicate with it? and if I am able to clear this alarm will my communication come back?

OK,... this make more sense now...I will try this tonight and change all my move with DM100.00 to DM100.10 ouput which should give me the coresponding alarm ON. Thank you MPM.

Hi There I just finish putting together a CPM1A with a Nt2S HMI, my goal was to display Alarm msg on a screen, wich I was able to do. But can anyone tell me why is it I had to set my MOV to DM100 like this: Alarm #---->Move to DM100 000--------->&0 001--------->&2 002--------->&4 003--------->&8 004--------->&16 005--------->&32 ---------------------------- 010--------->&1024 Why can I just MOV the alarm coresponding Number to DM100? Thank you for your Help.
