  1. Hi all My colleague is currently working on a project and is using the "alias definitions" function to help label point arrays. However, he has hit a limit. He can not type in any more defintions. It is like there is a physcal limit. I searched the pdf manuals and no where does it speak of a limit. Can anyone help? Chears Neo
  2. FINS command; broadcast to all nodes

Thanks Harald I was wondering if using different logical ports might work. I have figured out a sequence of reads and writes to communicate to each Trajexia one at a time. Obviously this is not the best way so I might try the multiple logical port method. Kind Regards Neo
  3. Hi all I am working on a project using FINS commands over ethernet to communicate between a CJ1G-45H PLC and two TJ1-MC16 Trajexia motion controllers. I am able to send data to each Trajexia individually but would like to braodcast to both nodes to speed up the process. In the FINS command reference manual it states that if the node number is set to "255 decimal" the FINS command will broadcast to all nodes on the network. However, this is not the case for me, am I missing something here? Any help would be great. Laters Neo
  4. CX-Supervisor 2.1

Hi All I had our Omron rep in yesterday regarding some Sercos issues with a machine using an MC224 (Trio motion controller). Anyway, he mentioned that in April Omron will be releasing CX-Supervisor 2.1! Woo hoo! I thought CX-Supervisor was a forgotten product in favour of CX-Designer. Its good news to me because CX-Designer was never as versatile as CX-Supervisor. Any hoo, I thought I would spread the word. I have been offered a training course on CX-Supervisor 2.1 in April so I look forward to that. It was developed here in the UK in Southhampton so shouldn't have far to travel. Neo
  5. Omron DyaloX Industrial PC

I normally put a shortcut to the .scs file in the Startup folder so that when the computer boots up the runtime application is automatically loaded. However, there is a shortcut to the RAS tool as default. Trying to start both programs at the same time seems to load the graphics card some what. By this I mean the splash screens are not displayed correctly. Not a major bug but points to how low spec the graphics card is.
  6. Omron DyaloX Industrial PC

Hi PdL I have been using the DyaloX for about a week now. It is running Windows XP Embedded, but for all intent & purposes you can treat it as Windows XP. I am running CX-Supervisor 1.32 (4) & using a USB dongle. The RAS utility looks really good. However, on startup if I have shortcut to my CX-Supervisor application the graphics card doesn't seem to manange. So I have put the RAS shortcut on the desktop. There begins my moan . The hardware seems a little low spec. I would like 1024 MB of RAM instead on 512 MB. The solid state hard disk of 1 GB only gives approx 500 MB of space after the operating system. I think I will use the the 2 GB option next time. The main problem is the graphics card. The Intel card in my opinion isn't upto the job of demanding HMI/SCADA applications. Just a few points of feedback, I am now entering commissioning & testing so I will let you now how that goes. Best Regards Neo
  7. Omron DyaloX Industrial PC

Hello! Must be that Monday morning feeling. The default password is set blank enabling new users to set what ever they like, doh! Also, this is Windows XP embedded & is already activated from Omron. Sorry for the confusion guys. Neo
  8. Omron DyaloX Industrial PC

Hi Guys Very excited this morning as I turned on the recent purchase of a Omron DyaloX for the first time. Just a few questions. None of the literature has the default Administrator password. I am unsure if the installation of Windows XP has been activated. Any help would be gratefully recieved. Neo
  9. Hi guys I managed to grab together enough kit to do a trial. I used the "ethernet" protocol & had no trouble. Both CX-Supervisor apps had the same UDP of 9600 (default) with no issues observed. I think I will go ahead with this method as I am itching to use the new Omron DyaloX industrial PC. Many thanks Neo
  10. Hi all It has been a long time since I last posted. I have a request from a customer to have two industrial PCs running identical CX-Supervisor applications to comunicate to the same PLC. Basically they want machine control from two different locations on a long process i.e. 10 to 15 metres. I have looked at the CX-Supervisor help regarding remote connections & I would like to stay away from this because it would entail having a different CX-Supervisor application running on the 2nd PC. I was wondering if the PLC had a an ethernet module connected to an ethernet switch if it would be possible to run two PCs with identical CX-Supervisor applications connected to the switch. Obviously the PLC & two PCs would have individual IP addresses but apart from this I think it should work. By the way I am also thinking of using the latest Omron industrial PC (DyaloX) which I am very interested in using. Any help would be greatfully received. Best regards Neo
  11. Cx Programmer Conection

Hi All I am using CX-Programmer 6.0 & a CS1W-CIF31 USB to serial converter. Changing the port no. in device manager to say COM5 doesn't show up in CX-Programmer when setting the comms. Thanks for that utility I'll see if there are any port conflicts. Best Regards Neo
  12. Cx Programmer Conection

Hi Paul Sorry for my vague post. The problem is that the CS1W-CIF31 is on COM5 in the device manager but when I open CX-Programmer I can't select COM5 because it is not displayed as an option. I am waiting a reply from Mark Grant at Omron tech help UK (Milton Keynes) Regards Neo
  13. Cx Programmer Conection

  14. FinsGateway

Hi all Have looked at http://www.plcsoft.ne.jp webiste but can only updates which, as I understand only work on installed drivers & will not add for e.g. ETN_UNIT. Neo
  15. FinsGateway

Hi all Many thanks for your help guys. I have tried reinstalling FinsGateway from CX-Programmer 3.2 disk but there is no option for ethernet driver. I will try earlier verison of FinsGateway for driver. The problem at the weekend was that I had forgotten my password as my work PC is set to auto logon. Many Thanks Neo
