Hello Masters. This time I need to develop a "simple" application that reads some data from a MS SQL DB and then writes some parameters to specific plcs. Fortunately, all the plcs are AB so I have thought the easiest way is to install RSLinx in the application computer and through OPC write the parameters into the plcs. It would be great if any of you could give some advices about the first step or where to start. The application is to be written in .NET C# or VB, so i need some libraries in order to acces RSLinx whether using OPC or DDE. Any help will be appreciated and thanks in advance. CaldeRon Inc.

Hello everybody. For an aplication, I am using RSL5k SFC programming language in order to execute some sequences of several processes. The HMI is being developed using RSView SE 4.0 and I need to add some displays where the sequences are started and monitored. So far, i have made a simple display whith a button that initializes the sequence and a multistate indicator that reads from a plc TAG the actual step of the SF Chart. Actually, within each step of the sequence, I am writing an INT variable ("SQ_STEP") that indicates the number of step, so with this tag, I use the multistate indicator to describe that step in the HMI. Anyway, does anyone have another way to do this, maybe easily or more complete or using SFC tags? Thanks!

Hello. After a few reading at all the information you gave me, I have found that the best way, is to use a library called RSIOPCAUTO.DLL which is installed in the PC with RSLinx. From all the examples seen, I can find some of the classes and methods this library has. But Id rather to get some sdk or document that explained with more detail this library. Does anyone know something about that? Thanks again

Hello, I have an issue with a 30 HP Micromaster 440 Drive: I need to know which are the conditions that avoid a user to modify the drive parameters, specifically the ones over 700. We havent been able to change them and we have checked the P003 which is suposed to grant privileges for modifying them. Thanks a lot for your help. Best Regards.

Hello! I have a little problem with a PCIC that I need to configure a CNet: Because the only PC I could get with an ISA slot, was too old to support WinXP, I had to install on it, windows 98. The problem is, that windows doesn't appear to detect the card, it is not a driver problem, because the OS doesn't even find a new hardware! I have already tried the three slots and, in fact, replaced the sound card installed on one of those ports and fully working, with the PCIC and nothing occours. Unfortunately, I dont have another PC or another card. The card's leds, are always alternating Green/Red, so I can say the slot is supplying power to the card, but, as I said, the SO simply doesnt detect it. Besides, I havent found any information about the Dip Switches the card has. Do they matter ? where can i find the configuration for those switches? As always, thenk you very much! Best Regards. Hello gravitar. The board is a socket-7 with pentium MMX, 10GB HD and 32MB RAM. I thought XP was able to run in this machine, in fact, I tried to install a very light version ("Leonic 3", 300MB) but the system halted, so I decided to do it with win98. FInally it worked perfectly. I could do the job with the KTCX15 and the CNet was perfect. Thank you very much

Thanks a lot! As you said and doing what the document says, it works!. Now I have a problem with RSNetworx. I installed RSLinx Classic 2.50 and then RSNetworx CN 7.00. Remember Im on windows 98. and when im trying to open Networx, it crashes and says that there was a problem with CNETCNFG.DLL ¿?. It's impossible to open Networx. What can I do? I have reinstalled RSLinx and RSNetworx twice and the problem continues. And those versions are the ones i have in my XP. Thanks

Youre absolutely right! and I am a dumb. I received the card in a 1784-PCIC box. SO I asumed that it was actually a PCIC, but until this moment, i had not read the tag in the card: 1784-KTCX. !!!!. Sorry Im an idiot. Now, that i have that card: What do I need to do in order to make it work? is that old PC I got able to handle it? Thank you very much and sorry again.

Yes, I am sure. I said ISA, refering to the slot. but the card is a PCIC and the pc slot is PCI, but the old one.

I have read all the user guides from AB regarding the communication between a Micrologix 1100 and a PowerMonitor 3000 using ethernet and MSG instructions, in order to get some data tables of electrical parameters measured y the PM3000, like VLL, Frecuency... I have an issue with a terminal 2711-T9A1 FRN 1.00 RIO: I am working on the .PBA file in Panel Builder v3.82, and when I tried to download it to the terminal, I found that the graphics were damaged. Actually, what I am trying to avoid, is to do a firmware update, because it is to risky and those terminals are very critical in the process they are at this time. The option I am looking for, is probably some panel builder version that doesn't damage the images. But I know a firmware update will be the last option Ill use. Tkank you! Calderon.
