Thanks again for reply Quant. I had to make a new virtual XP image and start from scratch with the install, all now seems to be well and I remembered to back up the working image! -
Hi Quant Thanks for the reply. I have the driver installed I think there may be an issue with the order in which I installed the drivers. My problem now is that I can't delete the drivers as I get the following error message. Error 1920. Service NA_Service (NA_Service) failed to start. -
Hello all, Is anyone using the TSXUSB485 successfully with Windows 7? I have all the relevant drivers installed but the device comes up in error every time I plug it in. Thanks in advance. -
Hi , I have v2.2 and all the upgrades I can find. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no joy. Thanks -
Hello all, I am using ProWORX NxT, it has been working for a while but now whenever I go to Controller : Communication Setup I immediately get a Path/File access error and the program shut down. Any ideas welcome thanks. -

Hello all, just starting out finding a little about Siemens by downloading S7 LITE and was wondering if there are any sample programs available for this software? Searched but can't seem to find any. Thanks for your help. -
Thanks for replies all, Veganic, I'm not 100% positive how RCDs work, I know the theory of difference between currents in N and L but we have RCDs supplying three phase motors (mennekes plug sockets from RS http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/searchB...&R=0491204) with obviously no neutral don't these monitor current flowing in the earth circuit? Again, sorry for my naivety. Thanks -
Thanks for replies Mickey, I was under the impression that if there was curent flowing in the earth circuit (above 30mA) that the supply RCD would trip, several of our panels have RCD protection on the supply and we've never had any problems. We might just have been lucky. Cheers -
Have you had any experience of current flowing in a grounded circuit? In my previous job we had 100s maybe 1000s of devices with screen grounded at both ends with no problems on any circuit. What about VFD cables are these to be grounded at one ond only too? In what instance would a screen become a current carrying conductor unless under fault conditions? Wouldn't a screen carring current trip the RCD? Sorry if i sound naive. Thanks for reply. -
Hi all, recently I have seen more projects that state the cable screen should only be connected to ground at one end. Up until now the screen was grounded at both ends and we've never had any problems. Just wondering what experience people have had. Cheers. -
Alright all, I've been lucky enough to get a new role in an engineering company working more with plcs. The only problem is I've never had any telemec experience having worked mainly with Rockwell and Siemens. I was just wondering if there are any pitfalls I should look out for. Is the code totally different? I've heard that there is some free software too is this the full package? Thanks in advance. -
Thanks all, I'll let you know if there are any problems. -
Cheers Bob, I have all the relevant software, the problem I have is that in controllogix I go online to the devicenet network via the network tree and select the devicenet card. On the SLC controlled machine we have inherited I can't get to see the specific cards in network tree just the processor (using RS 232 to go online). Do I have to connect to the network with a special card? Is the devicenet file used in a different way with SLCs? Thanks in advance. -
Alright all, what would I need to upload a devicenet file from an SLC? I have only worked on devicenet with controllogix so I'm a bit wet behind the ears to say the least. Cheers. -
Just display data from the PLC for a start and if possible at a later date place this data in a database so records could be accessed. -
Thanks for replies all. Nathan, I'll try and work through your suggestions but expect more questions! Cheers. -
Alright all, not sure if this is the right forum but I'll give it a shot. I've had some success displaying data from a logix 5000 on an excel spreadsheet. I would like to make this data look more user friendly in the form of a web page but I don't know where to start. Is there any software that I need to use? Can I still pull data straight from the PLC and display it? Any help appreciated. Cheers. -
Not sure if there is software for the demo you can download but if you install the software with no license you get a two hour trial limit. I think the tag number is limited too bot not sure to how many. -
Thanks again Praveen. Some of the controllers are on v13 so these will be the ones backing up. I'll have to get round to upgrading al to v13. Cheers. -
Is this option version specific? I can see it when I open a new project in the latest version but we use version 12 at plant was it available then? There is no option for backups under tools using version 12.
