Hi, Maybe you could make a FB with a loop. Here is an example to reset an array of bool. You just need and index and a bool as the conditon of the reset. JC

Connect to old Premium plc TSX572623
acpi replied to Clear.Mind's topic in Modicon / Telemecanique / Schneider Electric
Hi, 1) Forget Unity, your processor is PL7-Pro only. For Unity only processors reference that ended by a 4 (ie TSX572624) can be programmed with unity. 2) XIP driver is installed when you install PL7-Pro. XIP Driver is provided as well on the cd with PL7-Pro. To configure XIP driver have a look here : https://www.schneider-electric.fr/fr/faqs/FA17522/ Sorry it's in french, I didn't find something in english. But it's not so complicated. Anyway a quicker solution will be to find an RS485 cable to connect the TER plug, it's easier than in Ethernet with these processors. JC -
You're right, some Schneider plcs system bits could be used to "emulate" some OB, but in this particular case it's not really interesting. With a Siemens Step7 Plc, if you address a memory area that doesn't exist, your plc will stop. If you add OB121 (that is not present by default when you create your project) it will not. It's really a totally different philosophy between Siemens and Schneider and it's not a good idea to try to do with a Schneider plc what you did with a Siemens. JC

Hi, OB means organization Block, it can't be compared with Schneider DFB. OB121 and OB122 are specials organization blocks that can be used to avoid to stop the processor when a programming error occurs (OB121) or I.O error (OB122). So don't look at this on Schneider Plcs, they don't exist so you don't need it :) JC

Hi, I worked with PS316 several years ago and if I remember well I had to use a software from Kithara to use the com port under Windows XP (http://kithara.com/en) This software was provided for free by Lauer. I don't remember very well how it worked but the fact is without this software I couldn't communicate with the PLC even with the protocoled original Klockner cable. Maybe you could look at it. JC

Programming software for XBTB8140
acpi replied to ratcliffe_ic's topic in Modicon / Telemecanique / Schneider Electric
Hi, I Checked on my side and you can use XBTL-900 too, it's a software designed for Windows 3.11 so it's a little bit more easy to use it than the DOS (100, 400) versions. Be aware that upload/download to the XBT are not easy cause there's only one com port and most of the time you have to change the port mode to RS232 instead of the RS485 used for the link to the PLC, this changes has to be made directly on the panel. Programming software for XBTB8140
acpi replied to ratcliffe_ic's topic in Modicon / Telemecanique / Schneider Electric
Hi, If I remember well you need XBTL-900 that run under windows. Maybe you could use XBTL-400 or 100 but these ones are DOS only. The cable is a serial one, probably not a standard cable. I should have the drawing somewhere. Anyway this panel is completely osbolete and you should replace it as soon as possible. JC PS: Here is a link to download the user guide, you'll probably find the informations you need : https://www.schneider-electric.com/en/download/document/0428830K01000/ -
Hello, P57104 processor are Unity processors, they will be sold until 2026. If necessary the program can be easily adapted to a M340 or a M580 if the program is bigger. JC

Morning, That simply means the battery inside the power supply module (behind the front cover) is dead or close to be. If you have a memory cartridge inside the processor it's not a real problem, if not, that means that if you shut down the power your program will be lost. Take a picture of your plc with the leds state and I will give you a diag more accurate. JC

Hi, It depends of the reference of your Premium, if it ends by a 3 (TSX P57 203 by example) you need the older PL7 Pro software. If it ends by a 4 (TSC P57 2634 by example) you need Unity software. Both use the same serial cable, TSXPCX1031 (RS232 version) or TSXCUSB485 + TSXCRJMD25 (usb version). Some processors have a buit in Ethernet connector or an additional Ethernet module that can be used to communicate with the plc. JC

TSX T407 - question on Printer capability
acpi replied to Jeppe666's topic in Modicon / Telemecanique / Schneider Electric
Morning, The best place for a T407 is in a museum, this tool is completely obsolete nowadays. What you have to do is to find a virtual image of OS/2 with the XTEL workshop including basically PL7-2 software (for TSX17) and PL7-3 software for TSX 47, 67, 87 or 107. Then you need an RS232 to RS485 converter for the 17 and an RS232 to Current Loop converter for all the rest of the 7 series plcs. As I said in another message the original converter used by Telemecanique was a Westermo MA-21. Once you have uploaded the programs you will be able either to print it or convert it to the new Schneider plcs as cHud said . JC PS : Here is a drawing of the TSX 17 programming cable : http://www.schneider-electric.co.in/library/SCHNEIDER_ELECTRIC/SE_LOCAL/APS/5805_33AE/2.8E10.gif For all 7 series plcs except 17 using a generic converter : http://forum-automatisme.net/download/file.php?id=1263&mode=view -
Hi, You need PL7-3 software Under XTEL and an RS232 to Current loop converter. Ideally a Westermo MA-21 which was the converter used by Telemecanique. JC

Morning, I plan to use an X2 Beijer HMI with two or three Omron plcs but I never used this HMI and I would like to collect some opinions about it. The key point for this project is the possibility to access the panel remotely. I have seen that it can do the job but I would like to know if it's reliable and easy to activate. Most generally how are the software and the hardware compared with other brands like Schneider or Siemens that I use most of the time ? Thanx. JC
-
Morning, Well they're present in France but they have a very small part of the automation market. I guess 90% of the Mitsubisghi plcs here comes from foreign machines constructors. In France we had a lot of French plcs suppliers like Telemecanique (Schneider now) that created their first plc in 1972 and still owned about 50% of the market in the beginning of the 90's so foreign brands are less present than in other european countries. So, anyone else for advices about Beijer ? I thought this brand was very well known outside France ? JC
-
Hi, GOT is Mitsubishi right ? this brand isn't very common here (France) and for this application I would prefer to choose a generic hmi and not a one from a big constructor, in this case I'll rather go for Schneider or Siemens which are the most used here. Thanx for your advice anyway. JC

Morning, You're right, you can not transfer the plc program from Monitor. You need XTEL and PL7-3 software under OS/2 to do it and maybe the PL7-COMM tool but i'm not sure you really need this one cause it was possible to configure the Mapway card inside the PLC program. So it seems you have lost the program as the MEM led is on and you're right it's probably because the battery that is welded directly on the processor card is dead. It's a little bit complicated to change it because you have to dismantle the card but the good news is that the battery (3,6 v) is always available. Once you have changed the battery you need to perform a complete transfer (binary program plus IO configuration). JC
-
Hello, Monitor 77 software is a SCADA similar to Citect, Intouch or any modern SCADA software. The PLC program (including the configuration of the Mapway card) is in the PLC not in Monitor. All the 7 series processors had an inboard memory so you can see processor without memory card, that's not abnormal. How are the leds on the PLC ? is it in run mode ? Mapway was great in the 90's but today Schneider don't use this network anymore so you could consider to retrofit at least this part of the system and change as well Monitor who is completly obsolete today as well. Twido Programming cable
acpi replied to Nuwan's topic in Modicon / Telemecanique / Schneider Electric
Hi, Your cable could work but I can't be affirmative. First you should check the pins assignement of your cable on the minidin side. On the Twido it's on the left of this picture, if it's exactely the same you could try it. -
xbt-a72101 eeprom file
acpi replied to Michal's topic in Modicon / Telemecanique / Schneider Electric
Hi, You need the original program and XBTL100 or XBTL400 software (under DOS) to transfer to the panel. Without it there's nothing you can do. These panels were made in the 80's and are totally obsolete today, you should consider a replacement with a new panel. JC -
MAGALIS MODICON XBP021010
acpi replied to baronnd's topic in Modicon / Telemecanique / Schneider Electric
Hi, All you have to do is to upload the application from the panel with XBTL1000 software and then you will see the password. This password is just set to avoid "common" operators to modify the machine parameters there's absolutely no knowledge protection in it. JC -
Morning, If you use an exact equivalent of the genuine cable it should work because the TSXCUSB485C is a USB to RS485 direct converter. I use the Schneider cable with VirtualBox without problem. I think your driver for this cable is not properly installed. So have a look here : http://www.schneider-electric.co.in/sites/india/en/support/faq/main_faq.page?page=content&country=IN〈=en&id=FA135500&locale=en_US&redirect=truethen follow the instructions in the pdf document. Modicon TSX Micro 3721001 - CPU Fault - Modules or Base Unit?
acpi replied to andyz's topic in Modicon / Telemecanique / Schneider Electric
That's right, there's no memory cartridge, I looked too quickly the first picture . That could explain the lighted leds but normally you can't lose the program if the cover is removed. There are some sort of metal springs on the cover, you have to check if the contact inside is ok otherwise the machine can not go in run mode. JC
