I just finished a class with a guy that needs help, located in the Upstate of SC. Pay is upto 80K. Send me a PM and I will provide contact info. -
Thanks Mr. "B" -
Thanks, I assume the workbench comes with the module. -
Hi folks, Never did a lot of work with the DL line, but I have a customer that has an existing unwinder/winder machine that uses an encoder to measure distance. Currently the encoder is wired to a panel readout and an operator watches the count and takes action when needed. The customer wants to move the counting function (and automated the actions) from the panel display to the PLC, the PLC is a DL205 and has a 9 slot chassis, with one open slot. Will I need to buy an encoder card for this application or can I use something else? I only have to count pulses, nothing else required. Thank you in advance. Ken -
On long runs with voltage inputs, you have to compensate for voltage drop, not need for current inputs. -
You could also use a H-O-A switch and run the Hand contact through the foot pedal before going to the drive. (two wire control) The maintained switch basically replaces B_carlton's relay. -
I'm sure there are many, but Windoze 7 has a built in one, that is okay http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/snipping-tool -
DanW, agree it's a mass balance. It's just that you do not realize the amount calories you burn in a normal day, when supporting a running plant vs. sitting at a desk pounding out PLC code and wiring diagrams. -
No one has responded, because you have not given enough information for anyone to understand what the flip you're talking about. -
It means your processor cannot evaluate all the PID loops assigned, in the time allocated. So each scan so of you loops are not being updated. You should check the update time on you loops and try to make them slightly different, if your process allows. Do not make every loop 1.0 seconds, make one 1.1, another 1.2 etc... -
If they were low wattage solenoids, maybe, I would connect directly, but at the 20-30 watt range, relays always. -

I drink my coffee straight, so that's not the problem. I have started to walk around the building during lunch, can't hurt. I guess there is Rabbit food in my future. -
Tell them I sent you! -
If I remember correctly a standard straight through serial cable works. -
Okay, last year I left my plant support position and went to work for a engineering services company. I have gained over 12 pounds. No more running out to view the process and see what's wrong. No more muli-floor stairs to climb. How have others making this transition coped. I have told my wife to put me on a Rabbit Food diet, but I do not know if that will work. Any hints, comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. -

Can you configure another button to write zero to the same address? -
I moved this topic to the general area, should get more views here. -
The ML1400 has two serial ports, are both in use? You can use MODBUS on the round one, might be an option. -
Use the photo eye to enable a TON and have a NOT .DN bit in parallel to latch in timer so it will continue to time after the photo eye is clear. The use the .TT bit to run the motor. -
Welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing. -

I think size is factor also. Which has the biggest impact on your exposure, 10, 100 point projects, or one 2500 point project?
