Hello Elarsen.... Your problem seems to like my problem with 1747-PIC... New genaration PC and notebooks has powersaver features... Ths is preventing/decreasing the voltage on COM ore PCMA.. Trerefore you are unable to make a connection.. On the other hand, PCMA..etc type ports are NOT usable.. You have to use phhsiclalCOM ports.... Actulay, I am not expert for this kind of problems.. My problem also not solvet ( LINK LAYER NOT ACTIVE) As a recommed... I am planning to find an older desktop computer from 1994-1998's with Win95 in order to create proper connection. You can also do same solution; If someones doesn't help us for easier way.. Good luck !!!

Thank you ... Connection is exactly same what you are saying. Therefore Who active result is PC node 31 , PV node 2 and 5/02 node 1 while i am working in MS-DOS..... But, in Windows ........ working with APS (link layar is not active) working with Pael builder ( destination node is not active) I am using Win98SE on the Toshiba Satelite notebook.... COM1 is phsical.... Regards...

Dear All , I am trying to make a connetion between PC and PV550. But it doesntt work... in MS-dos .. with APS - who active.. PC node is 31, 5/02 node is 1, PV 550 node is 2. upload and download from PC to CPU is working properly.. in Windows, APS -- pres ONLINE APS is saying that LINK LAYER IS NOT ACTIVE... Panel Builder software, upload/download.. Destinationnode is not active... I am using 1747-PIC and physical COM1.. Can someone have a experience with this problem..?? Thank in advance

Dear All, I have to use these older softwares for older and existing configuration. I have no problem with cominication between PC ans CPU over PV550. in MS-DOS prompt.. who active and PC node 31, CPU node 1, PV500 node 2... Program upload and download for CPU is properly working.. But, in windows, PC and PV550 is not cominicating.. (Destination node is not active). in windows, APS is saying that ; LINK LAYER NOT ACTIVE. in MS-DOS who is working properly.. I am using 1747-PIC and physical COM1 port, Cn somebody knows , where is the problem ?? Thank in advance

Dear All, CPU SLC 5/02..... 0-10VDC analog out module... as example analog output #1 is master ( 0.....10.0 VDC set point comes from Panel Builder) analog output #2 is sleeve... (0.....10.0 VDC set point comes from Panel Builder If master set point increase/decrease 10%; sleeve setpoint should be increase/decrease 10%.. If sleeve set point increase/decrease; master set point will be NOT change. Can someone have an example for this application Thanks in advance

Hello to everyone, I am using CQM1-CPU21 nas NT21 operator panel. I made simple machine comtrol with these devices. It is working good. Now I am trying to calculate cyle time of the machine and show it at Operator panel. Aprrox cycle time is about 5 seconds at the machine. Input 000.11 is ON --> cycle starts (after approx 0,3 seconds Input become to OFF due to mechanical movement from the machine) Input 000.11 is ON again --> previus cycle stops and new cycle starts immediately. Question is ; how can I measure the time between these two signal ON. Thanks in advance

Screen saver can be another solution. You can also solid state led lamps instead of the original AB lamps. You can also use complete separate lamp. You have to add extra two cable for lamp power.

Well, Explanation of your problem is not clear. What is your exact problem about transmitting. Transmitting between PC and NT 31 for upload/download ? or Transmitting between NT31(already programmed) and CPU ? Than I can try to help your issue. Good luck

It is old programming software . I have used it for SLC 500 familiy. IPDS is main directory name. IPDS/ATTACH/SLC/ap.com... This was DOS based programming software. It is also working with WIN95 and WIN98. I newer try it with WindowXP. You can use new version of programming software. Please visit www.ab.com You can find new software on it

:-p Hello to everyone, I have used AB PLC's until today. I am missing to use again. But some peoples loves Omron. Now I'm preparing to use CQM1H-CPU21 and NT31 Operator panel. I started to read all documentataions of Omron's. But, these are more than 5000pages. Therefore, I kindly ask you to inform/send me an example or exlanation for comminication between CPU21 and NT 31. I understood that some DW's has to set for comminication in the CPU for NT 31 I read n+3 words(CPU-->NT31) and m+2 words (NT31-->CPU)....... Unfortunately, I did not understand correctly.
