Hi, May I know what kind of wrong alarm configuration that I did wrongly? I am using the ns-designer. I am writing a file for all the 4 touch screens with the 2 pages of alarm displaying each touch screen alarms only. As I seen in the ns-designer, it doesn't really have any setting to do OR do I really miss out something? I will still check on it again and see any thing that I could miss out or what. Also, could it be if anything to do to reset the controller link or some other setting that need to reset? I am linking the 4 panels plc using controller link. However, each remote i/o cards of the line is communicate via combo bus. If the combo bus still having error or what, then will it affect the touch screen displaying. At this moment, the combo bus still having error but the line still can run and each bit status still can be get by plc... Hope you all still can provide me some information while I will check on the alarm configuration again. Thank you...

Dear gentlemen, How are you all getting on? Hope some or one of the experts here can provide some solutions or point me out where could it be going wrong... Thank you. 4 touch screens been linking up with plc and via controller link. However, I face one thing that bordering my mind. All 4 touch screens can see each other. However, I am doing 2 pages of faulty log (one is page is showing the frequencies of an alarm happened, another one page is showing the history of when the alarm happen). I am just wondering why the alarms for the first page of other touch screen can be display in each touch screen BUT why the second page of other(not all) touch screens can't be seen by each other? Some can display correctly, some just have one or two alarms display while actually there are a lot of alarms really happen before, or else sometime not even an alarm is display. I can't really understand... Just hope the experts here can provide me some hints or something else that I can go and trace out myself... Sorry for bordering you all.. Hope you all don't mind. Hi, gentlemen... Is me again... This time I encounter one problem that is the 'macro program execution error'... I write in the ns-designer and simulated itself without error... However, when I download to the touch screen and linked up other devices then the problem start coming out... the error is something like this, 'macro execution error... check the objeck id... check the registration host'... Because, my senior write the program and I not so sure what is needed to do the setting from the plc side or is there something I missed out? I check the manual but not much helps can get... So, I just publish over here and hope the experts here can give some comments or some ideas or some hints that I can search for the root caused... So, hope someone can help me out... Thank you...

Gentlemen, gentlemen... Well, well... Finally I had found out the root cause..... I can just 90% sure about that because I donwload the files 10 times. Out of 10x ONLY 1x is failed... The root caused is (from what I knew)..... is so, so, so unexpected and even can be neglected. It is just as simple as the comm cable is not shield. I thought this can be ignored but actually NOT REALLY... May I know why is it the 'shielding' is so important? Also, my pc got RS Linx but not really affecting the downloading although the RS Linx always starts everytime the window starts. Hope this can provide some info for others especially those who are 'fresh' to automation... :) THANK YOU SO MUCH for helpS given all the times...

Hi, While, I got ask two of my seniors regarding about the pc problem.. but then one of my senior who is doing the same project with me also facing the same problem. Today, I just try to use the omron host link's cable and it manages to hook up the comm and the downloading hang one time among the three times I download to two touch screens. I got open up the host link cable to compare the pin assignment with the cable that we did last time which is 4 wires (handshaking type) while the host link cable is just 3 wires (transmit, receive, ground, and 2 pairs of the pins short each other)... I got contact my local supplier and send him the file and he also not facing any problem too... He mentioned that if using the 4 wires (handshaking type) the probability of failure is even lesser... He then suggest me to use the usb type cable to do the downloading... Anyway, he will still trying to figure out what could it be the problem. Initially, he suspect my pc got error but after I told him my senior also encountering the same thing then he suspects the ns designer software and he try to download himself but face no problem... I will return here after off duty to try to update again any latest changes... Thank you...

Hi, Ok... I am using both 9-pin d-sub cable without the usb converter. Regarding about the bit-map screen, I got all together 9 screens with 8 of them are the autocad (print screen and save in 'paint' software and then input to ns). When all these bit map input to ns, ns does reduce them from 24-bit colour to 16-bit colours... (it mentioned so when you input them to ns ver. 6) Then, may I know how to explain the 'hook up' failure between the pc and the touch screen? Don't have the response at all most of the time but then when using omron's cable, this comm failure reduce (still exist). Also, I got seen that when hook up successful but then hang halfway during downloading and after you restart the pc or ns then the subsequent hook up even worst and like totally no response at all.. Can I suggest a way that, I don't download all(or some of the bit-map screens) first then after that I download them one screen by one screen... will it be possible or will it be any side effect when I download them not with the very first time doing downloading? Every of the screen will contains an alarm bar and everytime there is a changes to the alarm bar or system setting then ns requests to re-download ALL again. I just afraid if I don't do so there might be something wrong to those bit-map screens... Hope the gentlemen here can provide yours valuable opinion again.. Thank you So Much...

Hi, Hmmm..... I feel so hapPy that you all can still helping me out. I have to admit that I am using NS for not long. Is better say that I still not that mind 'resourceful' enough as you all, experts over here. (I worship you all) The type 3 button DOES solve my problem over here. But then, my programmer ask me what IF he needs to AND more than two bits? Then, I think I have caught in a problem again... Is there any ways some more? I got search through those buttons for more than 2 bits button and seems like can't...... really find. I will use this method for ANDing 2 bits. To Mr Jay Anthony, I got download the the file that you posted. However, I can't open the file as stating :Cannot read the data. It has been edited on the NS Designer, which is newer than that in the computer. I am currently using ver 6.1. So... sir, you got any idea about this? :) Thank You.
