I have Chinese machine which has 226CN cpu I'm trying to communicate with it to upload the current program and maybe modify it.
But I can't communicate with it
I'm using Chinese cable rs 232 to usb and windows xp.
When I use it I get "you must use rs232/usb PPI multi master" massage
Is there a problem with the cable or the software?
I tried to change language of the software to Chinese ( as a solution I found on the internet)but it doesn't help
What should I do?

Thanks mr crossbow for your reply.

Also you can windows applications GX Developer or GX Works 2 instead od Melsec medoc DOS.
Thank you Mr Gambit
Gx developer work great
When I select plc type FXU
Thanks again for your time

As l said in my post the cable you have will not work. You require a cable from Mitsubishi SC09 this cable has electronics in it that. converts the RS232 signal coming from your computer. To RS485/RS422 that your PLC uses when reading and writing to your computer. As gambit said in his post if you have USB available on your computer you can buy a USB version that would work. But the simple way wold be to get the SC09 cable.
good luck
Rodney
Thank you very much mr Rodney
I just got the cable"sc09" and it works very good
Thank you again for your time

You can bye these from EBay but be carful of some of the sites ideally try to get a genuine cable which is an orange coloured one.

Thank you Mr Rodney, my plc output is 25pin port and I have an old PC has 9pin female and other 9pin male ports so I bought a 25 to 9 pin female cable I used it to communicate the plc but I get the same error
Attached photo of plc port & the cable I'm using.
Sorry If I didn't understand you well

There is an adapter that would need to be used with the PRO27. Adapter is part number 3G2A5-AP003. PRO27 also needs a cable, C200H-CN222.

Thanks gtsuport.

Hi All,
I am looking for a way to program the unit using the programming console, but there are two of them:
Horizontal: 3G2A6-PRO15-E
Portable: C200H-PRO27-E
What is the difference between the two programming devices?
Attached is a part of the C200H-PRO27-E portable manual.
A note from the manual indicates that "The programming console connot be used to create programs with more than one cyclic task. Use the CX-Programmer if more than one cyclic task is required.", what does one cyclic task mean?
Does it mean that it needs a start button/switch to keep re-executing the program?
Can I program an entire program using the programming console 3G2A6-PRO15-E? Or will I face the same limitation?

There is no way to connect a computer directly to that controller.
gtsuport
Got it.
On 4/13/2020 at 2:08 PM, gclshortt said:The C40P is an expansion unit. Do you have the full part number of the unit?
If this is an expansion it will connect to the K series CPU unit. The K series would then be programmed with the host link unit and software as gtsuport mentioned.
You can also use a handheld unit.
Most of the parts can still be obtained from EBay.https://accautomation.ca/purchase-find-parts/omron-c20k-c28k-c40k-c60k/#Special
Regards,
GarryThank you for the useful link Garry, I am trying to figure out what I need to purchase, this link will be a great reference.

I am looking for a way to program the unit, but not yet sure what is the best way to do this.

This PLC is old (25-30 years or so old.....).
Hi Michael,
Thank you for your reply.
I am asking about a direct way to connect and program the C40P using a computer as I don't have the needed hardware (the programming unit or the cables).
I didn't find an answer to this question in the form.

Hi Mr. PLC Members,
I have two Omron Sysmac C40P PLC units with no programming units or connecting cables, I need to connect and program them using normal computer.
I searched the form to find the software as SSS or LSS and the cable as 3G2C7-LK201 and the programming unit as C200H/PRO27 console.
Is there any way to connect the C40P directly to the computer and program it? What do I need for this? -hardware and software-
I know they are old nowadays, also I am not sure if the needed hardware is still available.
Thank you in advance.

Thanks
Mr Rodney & Mr Crossbow for replying
I checked the port and
They both ( software & device manager) use the same port (in my case port 3 )
And now the error is " communications timeout.check the port number, network address, baud rate, and the attached cable"
when I select "search all baud rates"
But if I didn't I get the same error " you must use the (RS232/usb)"
