S5 problem

In siemens S5 115U,what is the communication used in its port..it is for RS232 or TTY?...In coversion of S5 to S7,from S5 there is interupt I/o module,,but i wrongly purchased only ordinary I/O module in S7, i have known that S5 has slow time respone in I/O,does S7 ordinary I/O module compensate the speed? Or there other way to program in S7 so that it has the same speed with I/O interupt module of S5?..pls help..thanks

Hi scatter17. The PG port in front of the CPU is TTY. Yes, S7 is much faster than S5. So maybe you can use a normal input module. What CPU was the S5 ? What CPU is the S7 ? What is the interrupt inputs connected to ? What rate is the input changing with ? What is the duration of the impulse on an input ?

I mean the rate of change of the signal from the connected sensor.A 314 is not the fastest CPU in the S7-300 series. So it may be difficult to achieve "fast input" response. Maybe the proper solution is to get the right input card.
