Bluetooth serial cable replacements

Has anyone looked at or used the new bluetooth serial cable replacements? I received an email newsletter today with a link to the Promi-SD with a maximum range up to 1000m using bluetooth. www.sena.com. Any ideas on this? I am looking at connecting some of my PLC which normally have serial port connections.

We used some of these and the "base" to connect 4 Omron CJ plc's to a data base via ethernet. Bluetooth wireless on Serial Port, base station near the "lines" uploading on Ethernet. Worked nicely as I recall..
