GX Simulator help required, doesn't communicate

I have GX Developer 8 installed and also have GX Simulator 6. I am installing a Mitsi Q series base and expansion and have just finished writing the programme. I would like to simulate the programme before downloading to the PLC but when I try to run it using LLT the blue button I get a message 'communication error'. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong or have I set something up wrong. I thought this would be a simple tool to use.

In the tools menu, when you pick Start Ladder Logic Test does it work? There's nothing to configure as long as the GX-Simulator is properly installed. I know the current version of GX-Sim is in the 7 range, so your 6.0 is out of date, and might not work with the version 8 GX-Developer. But I can't be sure. I would recommend you uninstall GX-Sim and reinstall it. Have you upgraded the version of GX-Dev since GX-Sim was installed?
