uploading in ladder / list/ block

HI siemens specialists I have been programming for years but not much siemens In fact I have never done a program in seimens - just altered code. The other day a customer called me to a S200 CPU 214 He thought there was a problem with a high speed counter. I had never seen the machine before and they did not have a backup of the program. So I uploaded it and all went well until I tried to monitor online. It checked the version in my PC against what was in the PLC and came up with a difference that network 12 was different. Not being familiar with this software, you can imagine I was confused - I had just uploaded the dang thing and it was telling me it was different. I am sure some of you already know the problem, but at that time I didnt and was begining to look foolish in front of the customer. I tried several uploads with the same result until I viewed the program in block - then it said the programs matched and I could monitor it. I found the problem (FYI the HSC was counting threading wire into the machine and the rollers were slipping) My question is - while I was viewing it in ladder - and the programs did not match - it told me to download the program so that they matched. Would this have altered network 12 and maybe other parts of the program and so the machine would not have worked as it did. I didnt do it - Im not stupid - well not very :) but I found it a struggle monitoring in block. I was just wondering for maybe next time. Thankyou Steve Goodlad
