Initializing Analog Inputs In 1746 Remote Rack With Block Transfers

Would like to write the confiquration data to a 1746-NI8 in a remote rack (1747-asb) from a PLC5/40 via a block transfer only when the ASB module is reset or powered up. I was thinking of just using the first scan bit in the PLC5/40, however I would like to do the block if the power is cycled on just the remote I/O also. Any suggestions would be appreciate. I could not find any status bits in the ASB manual
