PLC to Zebra Printer

7 posts in this topic

Is there a way to output floating points and integer files to a zebra printer or PC? I would like to export counts from counters, the target value from the keypads and the math operation data that the plc uses. In a nutshell I need to export four integer files, eight floating points and C5:0-3.ACC values. Is this possible? thanks

Tell us what specific model number of PLC you have.

Give us more details: What connection will be used with Zebra: serial or Ethernet? What PLC? Logix, PLC5. SLC, Microllogix? Edited by Contr_Conn

The PLC is a micrologix 1200 or 1500 and the zebra is a 105SL label printer. I have a fair bit of knowledge about the zebra printers but this problem is by far the toughest yet. thanks

In that case it will probably be RS232. Communicating with Zebra is straight forward using ASCII messages but you do need to download manuals and read them.

check AWT instruction, search this forum for topics mentioning hyperterminal and difference between straight and crossover cables for RS232.
