How to get data from A4U?

I want to connect some A4U CPU to a OPC server; the goal of this project is to get data from CPU (alarms, production data...) and to write them in real time on a database (MySQL for example) located in the server. Thanks to that, we could treat data to help maintenance (alarms in real time) or help production by controlling production rates in real time too. What is the best way (harware and software) to set up it? Thanks for your replies.

the best way...? i would stick ethernet card in each plc... there are several ways to get the data from the PLCs but what we use is VB with MX Components.
