I was just thinking about something the other day. Not exactly sure why, but.. How is it that a company that made computer modems ended up with a name like "US Robotics"? Were they ever in the robotics business? Has anyone ever seen a US Robotics robot? As far as I know of, all they ever made was phone modems and related equipment.

The real irony being that Asimov was born in Petrovichi Russia. IMO, Asimovs use of the corporation name, US Robot, is actually a plurality play on the book title.
