Serial Cable - CJ1M to NS10

2 posts in this topic

The cable configuration for connecting a CJ1M serial port to an NS10 MMI is shown in appendix F of the CJ series operation manual. To date I have been using a cable that DID NOT have the jumper between pins 4 [RTS] and 5 [CTS] at the PLC end, YET it seemed to work OK, both for PLC programming and pass through programming of the NS-10. For my own edification can anyone explain IF this is needed or not, and/or why it works without it. Thanx PLC_TO_MMI_CABLE.pdf

Recommended serial cable for this application is XW2Z-200T in the CJ series Found this drawing on Korean website for XW2Z-200T cable [bottom right of sheet] but this conflicts with the CJ Series manual and has made me even MORE confused!! Korean drawing shows jumper between pins 4 and 5 at PLC end but NOT at operator end. WHICH IS THE CORRECT ONE!!! PLC_TO_MMI_CABLE_korea.pdf
