Modifying Symbols Or Importing into GTdesigner3

Hi looking for a little help, 

I have some knowledge of using GT designer3, but i am struggling on importing and editing symbols, 

I seem to get part way, draw a symbol in DWF, import it, but i cannot get rid of the background colour, 

Any tips gratefully received

You can import it as Part in  Project Docking Windows (usually  BMP, PNG or JPG) and the you can click on imported image select and you can specify transparent color.
