HMI comms using Windows 2000

4 posts in this topic

We've got a panelview 550 for using on a RSlogix 500 program which usually we have communicating using windows NT, now we've moved into the next century we're looking to communicate using a XP laptop. When we try to set up comms by selecting the PIC driver it is telling it will not initalize as it is trying to use the Windows driver, and via a USB port with a DH485 at the panelview end. Can anyone suggest a solution or hints to this Also as an alternative can we get comms via ethernet pass throu instruction as a fall back to the HMI. Thanks in advance mart

See Allen-Bradley's knowledgebase E76436562. I was having the same problem trying to communicate with a AIC+. Bob

Knowledge Base Note of RSI and XP sp2 compatibility chart if you think you may have a problem. Personally for me, SP2 has fixed more issues than it has created (none so far).
