Posted 10 Nov 2020 Hi, We have a Modicon 484 automate in our plant, and we want to read/ record and make a backup of the exciting program from CPU, but our console programmer P180 is out of service. I would like to know if there is any solution to communicate witch the CPU using a computer and what software/ cables we need to do that. thanks;
Posted 10 Nov 2020 I think the console was the only option for those units, not sure, as that's over 25 years obsolete...
Posted 11 Nov 2020 (edited) Yes, there are several options available. Crossbow is correct, this unit/technology is over 40 years old! The P180 was never able to record/copy the program, it was only a programming console. The P190 had both capabilities. To back up the existing program, it will require a J470 interface, a cable and PC/computer that is capable of running a DOS program. I have all of that equipment and we perform these operations still to assist clients in upgrading their processes. You may contact me directly via email to discuss some options to get this operation done for you. bobculley@deltaautomation.com Thanks, ModiconBob Edited 11 Nov 2020 by Modiconbob misspelling
