Posted 7 Jul 2020 Hello, I am starting on a task where I need to control two servos of type VPL-B0633T-PK14A with associated controllers of type 2198-H008-ERS2. The servos are setup mechanically so they need to be synchronized at all times, thus I need to find a code design that matches this requirement. Is there an easy way to synchronize two servos? How would you approach this task? /KimM
Posted 8 Jul 2020 If the axes are mechanically 1:1 or some fixed ratio 1:x then MAG Instruciton should keep them synchronized once homed and ready for Automatic motion. You could create a Virtual Axis that does all your motions and then MAG each axis to it. You could also declare Axis 1 Master and Axis 2 Slave, gearing 2 to 1 and all motion would be by command to Axis 1. 1 person likes this
Posted 12 Jul 2020 Best practice is to create a virtual axis as a master and 2 servos would follow as a slave. If in the future, if more servos need to be added it is a lot easier with a virtual master. They are all in the same servo group as well. Rockwell Automation has a good sample code base on this as well. 1 person likes this
