Newbie Cf card-to-DM memeory

I ahve the task of crerating screens which interact with the PLC. The recipes and text are to be stored on the CF card. I don't know how to transfer the the recipe data and text data to and from the CF card. I think i need to use FREAD and FWRIT. Any help would be appreaciated.

What platform will the screens be created for? Windows computer? HMI Touchscreen?
