Sensor Electrical Terminology

Hi! Anybody can help provide info on who to relate the important sensor electrical parameters to that of the components usually used? Example residual voltage, leakage current, etc. Basically I need to know how to correctly specify the sensors to integrate with my other components (example plc input). I've got some basic knowledge but want to know 100% for self improvement. Thanks! Regards.
