hello

Allen Bradley SLC500 and CDN066 with RSlogix500 or RSnetworkx?

4 posts in this topic

Hello, Please I need help , I would like to establish the sending and reception of data between SLC500 Allen Bradley and DSP Texas Instruments. DSP is on serial port and I use a CDN066 to convert RS232(serial port) to DeviceNet (1747SDN DeviceNet port). I want to know if for the programmation of the SLC500 to send messages to the DSP through CDN066, would I need RSLogix500 or RSNetworkx to program? Indeed, what is the use of RSNetworks?

Yes, you will need RSLogix 500 (at least the Standard Edition) for the SLC CPU application file (http://www.rockwellautomation.com/rockwellsoftware/design/rslogix500/orderinginfo.html) and RSNetWorx for Devicenet for configuring the 1747-SDN Scanlist and the network's slave devices' configuration(http://www.rockwellautomation.com/rockwellsoftware/design/rsnetworx/orderinginfo.html).

This is the third or fourth thread you have started on the same topic. You need to learn how that DSP works. Until you know how it can connect to other networks or protocols, you're going to get nowhere attempting to connect various SLC-500 modules and networks to it.
