S state relays FX2N series

4 posts in this topic

Hi I am converting a FX2N series code to a Q series. Since Q series does not use S state relays, is there a substitute? In the FX2N code could they be used as simple coils, so I can replace them with M coils in the Q series? Thanks for helping.

As long as you've just used the S as simple coils you can safely convert them to M coils. The S coils are used for Step programming in the FX-Series.

But be aware that if they were used for Stepladder programming (as kaare says), then it's not just a straightforward conversion. If there are any STL commands in the FX programme then you need to think very carefully about how you are going to do the conversion.

I am not much familiar with STL programming. I'll read up on them. It seems that S coils are not controlled by anything. They just appear. I have attached an example of my code. S17 has nothing controlling it. It is just used as a NO contact. FX2N example.xls
