RSview32 Application Examples

6 posts in this topic

Just wondering if anybody out there has some already developed rsview32 screens that I could get some ideas from. I am looking at improving my graphics for log in/log out and some other little things. Just wanted to see what every body else is doing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Does anybody know of a website where I could get some screen shots or anything? Your help is appreciated.

I think most engineers will be hard pressed to share RSView project examples due to company information control policies. Companies have paid a lot of money for labor and infrastructure for engineers to develop RSView project applications, thus their capital investment in these projects is extensive. I have contracted for a number of OEM's, integrators and customers, and just about every company has their own screen layout standard. I like to refine on what has been established as the defining example to bring more value to the customer. In that respect, taking your project and trying to understand all available features is the way to go. Once you know what can be done, then you can be creative and offer up suggestions to improve what your employer or customer have established. The A-B literature for RSView (now known as FactoryTalk View) does a fast job of quickly covering all of the features. Download them and start studying (Rockwell Automation publications VIEWME-UM004E-ENE-E AND VIEWME-UM005E-ENE-E) RSViewStudio has a few project examples built in, already, as well as the projects that you will build in an Allen-Bradley class.

have you already looked through the "built-in" samples that come on the RSView32 CD? ... there are a lot of ideas on how things can be automated ... most of the graphics are just "ok" - but if you're just starting out, the "how to make something happen" ideas aren't too bad ...

You might seek idea screens elsewhere. You should be able to emulate the "look and feel" from just about any vendor. Try searching Google Images with different combinations of "HMI, SCADA, screens, RSView, Wonderware, iFix, Citect, FactoryPMI, etc". You should be able to come up with many examples for inspiration.
