USrobotics telephone modem set-up

Hi everyone I'm a member of this excellent web site for a few years. I would like to ask you a question regarding the use of an AB SLC 5/03 and a USrobotics telephone modem I was able to communicated to the modem but I can't see the SLC what can I be missing I am using this modem and 9-25 pin straight thru cable.
