Forces in the GE 90-30 CPU323 PLC

3 posts in this topic

I have four old GE 90-30, IC693CPU323 PLCs that I have just replaced with RX3i PAC Systems. I want to take these old processors and set them up as trainers for our electricians, but after configuring the PLC and downloading a sample program with Proficy Ver. 5.7, I noticed that I was not able to force I/O in the CPU323. Does the GE90-30, CPU 323 support forcing of I/O? I am able to toggle bits like %M0001 and turn them ON and OFF, but Force ON, Force OFF and Remove Forces are disabled in the context menu. Regards,

No, it does not, That starts with the IC693CPU331. But you can use F11 and F12 to toggle and force any bit that is NOT controlled be logic. This should give you some ideas and 'work arounds'.

Thanks. I appreciate the information. These are just going to be used for trainers, I just wanted to be able to tell the electricians why they can't force these like they can with the RX3i. Best regards
